This isn't offensive in terms of bad taste (it's so tame high schoolers covertly pour beer out rather than drink it), but it is offensive in terms of mean-spirited stereotyping. Men are infantile jackasses, women are sex objects and/or harpies, and small-towners are pathetic grotesques. It's lazy in every way, from the dispirited performances to the vapid script to the ho-hum direction. Adam Sandler seems to hold his audience in complete contempt, and if this is a hit, no wonder. 2013's worst.

Adam Sandler is a really underrated actor, trapped in the most horrible film imaginable. Can’t believe I sincerely missed Rob Schneider in this, at least his brand of horrible, insulting, mean-spirited comedy is actually funny. Wait, no, that’s not true, but at least he would’ve been funnier than the Rob Schneider replacement actor. Teen boys pouring out their drink and pretend to be drunk was the most cringe DARE shit ever.

What monkey's paw did I wish on that these Adam Sandler movies keep finding me. How does he get away with doing this over and over again? Not only from an art perspective is this absolutely repulsive but the jokes mostly come at the expense of horrendous stereotypes about men, women, homosexuals, small-town people, frat-boys, and probably more I've forgotten. I don't just think I hate Adam Sandler as a film-maker, I've seen enough of his personality to believe he is a genuinely horrible person.

I heard Rob Schneider declined to appear in this one. That's like a piece of shit declining to appear in a toilet. Or a piece of shit declining to appear in Grown Ups 2. Either way, we all win when we don't see Schneider. Fuck that guy.

It's a bad film, but this viewer can't help but admire Sandler's gall. This 'franchise'(god forbid!) is simply an excuse for him and his friends to goof off and riff endlessly on their tired screen personas; all that's missing this time is Rob Schneider.
The plot is even more chaotic and arbitrary than usual, and almost every character resembles a popular gender, racial, geographical or physical stereotype.
Yet fans keep watching his films. For how long? The eternal question.

Actually better than the original, which isn't saying much but still. A lot of dumb moments and the whole film is mostly an excuse for Sandler to work with his friends, but it manages to be funny from time to time.

At its base, this is just a silly excuse for Sandler and Co. to goof off together for no real rhyme or reason; for my sins, I have to admit that enough of the gags made me chuckle to guffaw simply for their sledgehammer crudity and it must be said that the cast do have a pleasing chemistry together. I’ll defend Sandler’s 2000s output 100 times over his 90s efforts simply because he seems to have permanently shelved the passive-aggressive anger and cruelty of his earlier work. Grown up indeed!

Any good vibes and genuine camaraderie that the cast had going to save the 1st one from succumbing to it's stupidity, this throws it out the window. This feels gross and fake. This feels like the typical low effort incompetence that Sandler has put out most of his career. It completely distances itself from a lot of what made the first one bearable. It's not an over-exaggeration when people say this movie feels like Sandler went on vacation and his buddies and him turned into a paycheck.

A sequel to a film that just made zero attempt to be realistic goes even crazier and ups the ante? There is zero redeeming qualities about this movie. Sorry to the Sandler Crew this one just is a complete dumpster fire and that's being nice. Other words came to mind. Choose them carefully.

After the surprise of the first one actually being quite good, this one comes out with what you'd expect. For the most part. It has it's moments, a decently strong middle, but the first reel is pretty broad and awful. The leads were still likeable enough that I'd be fine with a number 3, but ditch the bus driver. Harmless, not a classic, holiday weekend type watch.

Grown Ups 2 is not guilty of being stupid, gross, infantile, and plotless, 'though it certainly is all of the above, and goodness knows that can be a winning combination. No, the movie fails in the one way that cannot be forgiven: it's just not funny.

This is hardly a coherent movie, more of a collection of generally really stupid sketches & jokes loosely held together by something barely resembling a plot. Yet I found myself enjoying quite a bit of the unapologetic stupidity that pretends to be a movie to not completely hate this... thing.

Really no point to this sequel other than to steal money from the people who made the original semi-successful. The first movie actually had some semblance of plot while this one meanders around. Grown Ups 2 starts off quickly with a mildly disturbing albeit funny scene and then quickly goes down hill. They put in a few eye candy scenes for men like the ballet scene and also for the women with the guy from yoga. The final party scene is probably one of the dumbest things I've watched ever.

I kept hearing that this one had some more redeeming qualities than the first one. They were far off. This was even worse. This movie just feels fake, which is amazing considering since I've seen way more unbelieveable movies that seemed more 'real'. I have no idea what they were thinking that some jokes were funny(they were terribly annoying)...so much that they kept doing them. I may have chuckled once or twice, saving it from a 0.

Weirdly mean-spirited for an ostensibly family comedy. More problematic, though, is the complete failure of nearly every joke in the movie. Here I was thinking Lone Ranger would be the worst movie I'd see in theaters this year.

It's funny, guys. It really, truly is. It's a completely untaxing hour and a half of Sandler and his buds making assclowns of themselves, and it barely exists as a movie, and it's as broad and infantile as can be, but I laughed. I laughed a lot. I laughed so much that I was sort of ashamed.

Grown Ups 2 is a silly, raunchy, reckless mess of a movie--a conflicted blend of sweet sentiment and sour humor. As I wrote at the outset, this movie isn't so much about growing up as it is growing old--and this shtick is growing very old indeed. (pluggedin.com)
