Gridiron Gang tells the gritty and powerfully emotional story of juvenile detention camp probation officer Sean Porter (The Rock), who, along with another officer, Malcolm Moore (Xzibit), turns a group of hardcore teenage felons into a high school football team in four weeks. Confronted with gang rivalries and bitter hatred between his teammates, Porter teaches some hard lessons (and learns a few himself) as the kids gain a sense of self-respect and responsibility. The Rock's got talent, but he's got to pick a decent film for christs sake.

It says something when Xzibit is the best actor in a movie.

While it does fall victim to some of the general cliches of the genre (which I am admittedly guilty of usually liking), this is a surprisingly decent at risk teenage sports drama. No one is seem as a perfect person, only one person is seen like a true villain and he has a small role. It's not going to blow anyone's mind but it's a decent watch.

Nothing inspirational but it is some good "bad kids disciplined to good kids" entertainment. If you like sports movies, maybe this will satisfy you.

Not too original and pretty predictable, but The Rock does well. Not very exciting, but not exactly boring. Shoots straight down the middle.

Predictable bad kids make good sports film, but it tries and seems genuine enough.

Imagine I'm making a stew. I take a pinch of "Remember the Titans", a dash of "The Longest Yard" and a smidgen of "Dangerous Minds". Believe it or not, but this stew is actually eatable and the parts of it that has been cooked just right are surprisingly tasty. Sure it's a bit too cheesy and the rock doesn't bring any new flavour to the stew, but the young actors do. Gridiron Gang is a simple movie that uses simple well tested Hollywood means, but it has heart, soul and guts!

Surprisingly good, The Rock is believable and so are the rest of the cast. Not the greatest, but still a good film to watch and help you realize how easily you really do have it

This role isn't a stretch for Mr. Rock. With that said though Rock does a good job (for the record if he ever coached me I don't think I would have made it out of the 1st practice). The whole underdog vibe thing works for me. They don't try to make the story too complex which is fine with me since it allowed me to fold clothes and work on my fantasy team while watching it and still miss nothing. How far can a team that couldn't spell its own name at its 1st practice go? You'll have to watch.

This is a good movie but very cheesy in some parts and was much better than I expected. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson played his part well as did Xzibit. This film will get compaired with Remember The Titans with is a better film but this is still worth a look

One of the most predictable, by the book movies I can ever remember seeing. But I don't really mind it.

Continues in the same vein as Remember the Titans (trying to overcome problems and teach morals through sport) but is still quite an enjoyable movie which allows The Rock to once again show off his acting talents.

Yet another predictable movie about underprivileged youth overcoming all odds and the coach who touches their lives. Didn't bore me though. The Rock gave a pretty good performance, although the movie itself wasn't very gripping. But then again, with a predictable plot like this, based on real events, there's not a lot of creativity you can throw into this.

The Rock coaches 'The Longest Yard' for young inmates, and its uplifting, yet excessively violent, inspirational fluff.

I remember the documentary this was based on and it was much better. This movie was pretty predictable, but wasn't unwatchable. The Rock was pretty good in it.

Gridiron Gang may be an underdog, but it has heart, which is sometimes just enough to overcome any obstacles threatening to do it in. As a film, it's more of a field goal than it is a touchdown, but at least it puts points on the board.

The Rock continues to prove that he is going to be something in Hollywood - one ass whoopin' at a time.
