Greetings from Tim Buckley

As a Jeff Buckley fan, I was skeptical about this. Badgley, aside from his speaking voice, actually does a very good impersonation of Jeff. The brooding, language, mannerisms, gesticulations, and singing are all pretty damn spot on. The biggest fault of the film is that it lacks focus and captivation. Initially, I liked the idea of not doing a full biopic, but the themes probably would have been more effective and sincere if it went beyond the spring of '91 and didn't rely on so much fiction.

A good origin story, though I can't say I wasn't disappointed that "Hallelujah" wasn't included anywhere in the movie (I know, the movie was more about coming to terms with his father and there were rights issues, but still, would have made for a powerful climax.) Nice performances by Badgley & Poots.
