I’m pretty sure this family was selected for the evacuation because the President wanted to know if they would get back together.

There are many tense moments. Extra points for Morena Baccarin who is still totally on fire. Gerald Butler was also quite good. I enjoyed the pace and good quality production. It is exciting and nerve-wracking. It would be nice to be on the government's shortlist if this happens. Entertaining and worthwhile.

Given the rep of Butler movies, I expected mainstream mediocrity, so this was a great surprise. It certainly meets mainstream requirements but its definitely not mediocre. It's an apocalyptic thriller that hooks you from the start by presenting a protagonist who's one of the few allowed to enter a government shelter which creates a whole lot of problems that the movie never shies away from. The stakes are always raised in plausible & human ways, anchored by 2 great lead performances, not CGI

Ho hum action film that suffers from way too may conveniences to be believable. Just the odds of everything happening the way it did are astronomical. How are ya gonna find your wife and kid after both are separated during a world ending event, when you can't even find them on a Saturday afternoon in a busy Wal-Mart? Eye rolls were plenty here.

Wow, I liked it better than most people. Maybe because the last dozen or so disaster movies I've seen were utter crap and I only have them to compare it to. Yeah, the writing was lackluster and unoriginal, the stupid trope of an estranged family getting back together is there, along with the other stupid trope of one of the characters having a medical issue, but I still found myself enjoying the film. In the end, that's what really matters.

The initial premise is an interesting way to separate it from similar disaster films. Unfortunately it stalls by using clichés to create tension, before completely course correcting into a rehash of those similar movies. It’s still entertaining for what it is, although the dialogue could’ve been better, and the runtime absolutely could’ve been trimmed by thirty minutes for a tighter end result. Arguably better than the films that inspired it.

Undeniably conservative and shit -- end of the world as the ultimate and last chance to reunite the American traditional family -- but nicely crafted as sort of low-budgeted apocalypse story where at least we get a true, nearly minute-by-minute sense of dread (kinda like The Purge-esque chaotic energy) and despair (and some hope).

A family is reminded of the virtues of staying together by the arrival of a cataclysmic event and by a plan that has fortunately selected them to be among the tiny fraction of survivors: even though this process teaches John the importance of marital fidelity, presumably the abandonment of the monogamous sexual relationship will be required as a regrettable sacrifice, but, on the other hand, Allison’s selection makes sense, since her sexual characteristics are of a highly stimulating nature.

Not that bad, spends a lot of time with a family trying to get to shelter after they win the "lottery" regarding bunker placement. Lots of things go wrong, some of them kinda silly. The ending has a few major flaws but by then the story is an unstoppable object, just like the comet in question.

A milquetoast disaster movie with two pretty faces occupying the screen for the majority. As a fan of Butler's often generic repertoire, it's commonplace to see him in a movie, expecting crap, but being surprised nonetheless. "Greenland" didn't do much for me, it's a largely soulless retelling of the same meteor story I've seen before. My hopes are high for the sequel, though, Butler being Butler after the world ends could be a ringer.

Occasionally flirts with greatness in scenes dealing directly with the panic and stress of the looming disaster. I like the focus on the interpersonal exchanges and moral conundrums characters have to deal with in literal life or death situations. The ending deals with a few cliches and wraps up too quickly, proving to be a bit of a let down. Recommendable overall, but not a masterwork to make it a classic, or trashy/funny enough to make it an entertaining mess like some in the genre.

Felaket filmi.

A decent setup is completely ruined by a story that falls into tedious contrivance. I won't bother going into how many ways the science makes no sense either. This is simply unwatchable after the first 30 minutes. But I will give it one credit: At least it has a completely plot-plausible excuse to be using an orange filter during the latter half of the film.

Many failed premises, with lots of intense and purely believable moments interspersed. Human nature is examined - but as some have noted, it could come off as conservative. The 2020 style pacing kept me engaged, but the movie fell off well before the denouement.

Very stressful Fallout 4 mod. I think it was pretty good for what it was, but it also made me realize that if people are ever told to report to the nearest airport in case of a potential extinction level event, I for sure can't be bothered to go through this kinda mess. Pretty sure I liked it better when I wasn't aware of that, so thanks for bumming me out, Greenland.

It's solid enough with the central premise focusing heavily on doomsday. It's not solid if you want deep characters and emotional impact. The biggest weight this film carries is the idea that that sick got turned away but that happens within the first half hour of the film and it's never really brought back up. The countdown clock is always beaten by seconds in these paint by numbers style thrillers.

Summed up by the scene in which it's revealed the government didn't anticipate that directed TV announcements wouldn't remain secret so had no secure gate for the Last Folk on Earth who are to board the Last Folk on Earth planes through a mass of violent would-be stowaways who despite shouting for more than two minutes never shout anything more distinguishable as human speech than "ARGLE BARGLE!" But the chill rooftop party cheering on the end of the world all superchill is a moment to die in

I was expecting this to be crap, and was surprised that it wasnt. Well, not to start with anyway. I felt the low budget allowed the focus to be on people (rather than OTT special effects. see also: The Wave) and their desperate panic, reversion to survival mode, and basic human interaction when faced with impending doom. It was very effective and Butler and Baccarin did a great job. It fell to pieces a bit towards the end, where plausibility was a 'tad' stretched, but a "2012" remake for adults

This wasn't so bad at first as it begun and continued to focus on the desperation of mankind in an apocalyptic situation and how it changes them. However it tails off to the point that I can't even remember how it ends despite having seen it a couple of weeks ago. Forgettable is certainly an apt descriptor.

Well, tells you how much of an impact it had when I had totally forgotten I watched it for more than 3 weeks, and was only reminded when I saw the file on my computer.. If I had streamed.. Well.. Yeah.. It's ok to play in the background, or during a flight.. But I did like the more human side of the story in a disaster film.

Exactly what you'd expect and that's probably a good thing - you know it's shit when you walk in the movie theater, and it's exactly that. Very forgettable and pointless with the script not being worth even a critical analysis. Furthermore, the nowadays guaranteed poorly veiled political propaganda is present too. The only redeeming quality was the romantic company I attended the screening with. Not bad. /c Arena The Mall.
