Green Dolphin Street

MGM trying something grand again, seemingly wanting Green Dolphin Street (1947) to become the latest literary sensation put on screen. A bloated story of a troubled marriage which takes a long journey, out to sea, to primitive civilizations and back. The special effects that won the film an Oscar and Lana Turner saved it. Didn't feel many of the other actors came out looking favorably. It was such a unnecessary long story that struggled to ignite, by the time it ended one just felt tired.

Good movie, but very slow moving. Typical of the decade, movie explores the depths relationship strife and commitment and faithfulness.
