Greedy People

It tries way too hard to be something that it's not

Not bad! Clever story and well executed. Good mixture of humour, tension and drama.

It definitely doesn't always work, the scattershot tone providing excitement but also head scratching sequences. But it's fairly breezy and unpredictable, a new lense cast on the crime comedy genre.

Slippery slope effect

Very good script - reminds a bit of Greg Garcias pen!

The easy comparison is the Coen Brothers, but, for what it's worth, this is a really entertaining attempt at that familiar. The dialogue is snappy, has some jokes that legitimately work, and the way it all unfolds is chaotic and never boring. JGL is awesome here and his enjoyment in playing this role seeps through every pore of Greedy People. There are no glaring issues here. I don't know that I'll remember this for years to come but it's a fun romp, well worth the time.
