Graveyard of Honor

Uneven and overly long but still watchable and at times gripping. This seemed less of a remake and movie of an alternate take on the same themes. Especially during the first part of the film the action and how it was filmed were so over the top, it bordered on parody. The acting was solid by all and strangely low-key given the nature and style of the movie. My least favorite part of the film aside for the length was the score.

The first Miike movie that I feel like should be longer without such frequent jumps in time.. Nice narration, story, main character and perfect music score.

Pretty tiresome, but the final chapter of it delivers something fierce. I also liked the small pieces of narration. The females in this movie are written in the worst way imaginable, though. Just what was the point of including romance?
