Disturbingly good Not scary at all more suspenseful then anything and the cast was superb at playing these dysfunctional characters without overacting

This one was unsettling. There is an underlying sense of wrong attached to so much that is going on in this film. I'm perfectly content knowing I will never breastfeed.

Despite the obvious pull of an undead baby with an iron deficiency who attracts flies and has a K.D. Lang-sized constant craving for human blood, it was the cadre of oh-so-subtly fucked-up supporting characters that kept my interest piqued. From a jealous lesbian midwife-in-training to a father-in-law whipped so hard, circus lions would feel sorry for him, one need not be solely a fan of satan-spawn to enjoy this quaint family film.

This slowly creeping horror story is something you haven't seen before. It circles around motherly love, breasts and the elixir of life, milk. Both mothers, Jordan Ladd and Gabrielle Rose, are pilar of the story. They do they parts gracely. Director/auther knows also what makes your skin crawl; we are in a field we suppoused not to be.

Good story, good acting but very boring in places.

A very strong premise combined with solid performances and an engaging, fast-moving story & great atmosphere are the major highlights. However, thanks to some iffy plot choices- including a very strange pseudo-romance subplot that doesn't really exist for any reason- as well as a strange & underwhelming ending, it winds up being much less enjoyable than it could've been. Overall, it's worth a look if you're a big horror fan, but it's nothing spectacular even then & is really just alright.

Slow-moving but effective and actually rather original chiller. For once, a pregnancy horror story that doesn't come across as "Ewwww, women making tiny people is WEIRD" but rather "Ewwww, tiny people are WEIRD".

Could have been nice if it was a descent-into-madness thing, but no, it had to go full-on silly with the old blood-sucking-creature-from-hell schtick. Everything pointed to the baby being dead and rotting - the smell, the flies, close-ups on its inert mouth and greying skin - but I guess they didn't have the balls to go through with reality-based horror like this. I recommend First Born instead. Now that is solid horror for women ages 15 to 45.

A very perfunctory evil baby film, very much by the numbers with little in the way of scares or ideas.

It may be quite slow and pretty sober all-over, but I didn't mind that much. No real scares or anything, but instead it offers a pretty chilling atmosphere thanks to good use of sound and music. A few moments disturbed me a bit, which is more than I can say for most of the horror films I've seen lately. Great final shot too. One more reason never to have kids. Take that, parenthood!

A woman gives birth to a stillborn child who miraculously comes back to life, but needs to feed on blood to survive. By the book stuff in this Stephen King-esque thriller, the movie is really short and only seems to exist to showcase the final shot of the film, which is admittedly pretty sick. Oh, and you get to see a senior citizen using a breast milk pump on herself.

Jordan Ladd from Cabin Fever stars as a mom who gives birth to something she calls Grace...what is Grace..its 80 mins of fun...this movie is not original by any stretch, but its so well acted and does nt dumb down the viewers trying to make itself something its not...the ending is supurb...this movie is destined to be a cult classic

Extremely original with great/weird ideas, but never reaches its full potential or takes it out of the tense uneasiness level to the truly terrifying level. I would have liked the climax to have started sooner and ended bigger. The money shot at the end though, is gruesomely incredible! Worth watching just for that final shot, and I feel like the whole movie was made just so that they could realize that amazing final image.

Basically the idea is good, the problem is that it's a shortie stretched to feature length without adding any content.

Uncomfortable and disturbing at many points, but the movie as a whole wasn't as good as I'd anticipated. Ladd puts on a good performance, which is doubly impressive given that so much of the flick rides on scenes that include only her and her baby. Supporting cast is good as well, but the plot didn't quite work. First half is good but once the second half rolls around, it became a bit too conventional and predictable.

Udany film. Ciekawa fabula, powoli rozkrecany nastroj - momentami bardzo niepokojacy. Aktorzy, z jednym wyjatkiem, poprawni. Film niestety nie ustrzegl sie kilku usterek, jak np. zbyt przewidywalna koncowka (banalne chwyty fabularne). Ogolem jednak jest to bardzo udany debiut zupelnie nieznanego mi Paula Soleta.

A smarter, more developed, layered, and exploratory version of À l'intérieur [Inside]. What that film did for wince-inducing violence/gore and advancing parallels of the home and womb, this film does for metaphors of the act of mothering, giving/sustaining life, and dealing with loss. Every character in this is quite creepy, dealing with loss in their own flawed way, yet they all think they strive for what's best for everyone. Great for a debut film.

The buzz about people fainting at last Sundance's screening just made it a bigger disappointment. The directing is ok, but the plot is poorly developed. And... it is not scary at all. Sorry. For pregnancy horror, try the french "Inside": is way better, in all aspects.

"Covers the three essential bases of indie horror: It's scary, it's smart, and it pushes a few boundaries. An excellent debut for Paul Solet."
