"Not your traditional boy-meets-girl story, but it does an excellent job of delivering two fairly unique characters trapped in a seriously strange relationship."

This movie does almost everything wrong, but you want to keep watching until the end.

Quirky, funny and surprising odd-couple relationship movie. Thankfully the weirdness of the characters isn't based on anything that went before - the ideas are truly original and fresh. I loved the setting of L.A. looking like a ghost town in early hours of the morning or strange times of night, it gave an ethereal feel to the insomnia-fuelled proceedings. A little patchy but definitely a memorable movie for the unique atmosphere that pervaded every scene.

Pretty decent for what it is - a romantic comedy. I love the supporting cast. Nice debut from Marianna Palka who is strangely hot.

Marianna Palka pulls of a trifecta in this film: Terrible writing Terrible directing Terrible acting. This film is awful!

Top badass moment? This movie managing to be pretty good, whilst having the most god-awful title in the universe. A stalker stalks a woman with a taste for adult movies and a tragic, abusive childhood, yet somehow, they all live happily ever after. It even comes across as quite cute', as it swings between sweet as a spoonful of pure acesulfame one minute and uncomfortable as a pair of tight, fibreglass pants the next. Only a quirky indie film can do this. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Not bad, although the characters' motives for what they say and do always seem a bit murky. Apparently, there really IS a movie called "Zen Pussy"... I'm totally going to have to track it down.

Mendacious homeless stalker coerces his way into a young recluse's life following meet-cute involving pornography and teaches her that the only thing you need to get over your old sexual traumas is a new man forcefully browbeating you into doing what he wants. Without a necessary air of satire or self-awareness, the film registers as an affirmation of heterosexual monogamous relationships rather than the pretty disquieting thing it is.

The porn thing seemed kinda gimmicky renting porn from a video store was downright anachronistic with no explanation how at least
four people are gainfully employed at a video store in 2008. At its core, it has a great humanity and a great message: Love is sacrifice.

I'm amused by the whole independent film tone that eschews storytelling for aesthetic. Rather than expounding on the background of these characters we're given these sketches that's supposed to be enough to gather the psychology of their actions. It's the difference between good writing and bad writing, the ability to manufacture a sense of plausibility in the actions of the characters. It's unfortunate that Palka chose to take all the shortcuts.

The dialogue was hideous, the subject of the dialogue was often porn and with that to work with you would think they could learn a lesson, but nope...just as bad as cheap porn dialogue.

A mystery woman who radiates anger & vulnerability at once makes 4 a great opening. & tho her arc is oddly surprising & moving, there r times when the film skips over bits of dialogue/motivation necessary 2 understand changes in character (e.g.What exactly does Ritter say 2 get her 2 drop the knife? Y does she allow him 2 jump 2 something as invasive of personal space as a shampoo?) Still, Palka does so much so well, what's most confusing is how such a well-made indie failed 2 generate more buzz

I wanted to like this film.. but I just can't seriously believe any guy is going to put up with as much as she put him through. He may not be perfect, but she didn't deserve him.

Like if Judd Apatow tried directing Finally Lillian and Dan? Stilted but oddly charming, although the ending is clumsy and mishandled. Surprisingly nice cinematography though.
