A lot to love here for fans of the series. The callbacks to the original were great, overheating Zilla looked neat, there's more time pressure for the humans, halfway through it becomes a shameful yet amusing Aliens ripoff, there's some 'holy moly' moments in the monster fights and it contains a genuinely affecting emotional scene from a man in a giant lizard suit. Sure, it's ridiculous, goofy and bombastic nonsense, but it's exactly the kind of nonsense I was hoping for.

The scenes with Godzilla were emotional and exciting, and the scenes with Destoroyah were fun in a K-Mart brand Jurassic Park/Aliens sort of way; the rest of the film, however, was unwatchable without at least one sofa load of friends to mock it with. Cool score.

destoroyah is downright gnarly and godzilla is literally in nuclear meltdown mode for the entire film. those 2 things are just awesome enough to carry the rest of the film and make you forget anything else that happens. except maybe for godzilla jr because youre thinking he'll be awful but at least it's not minilla blowning atomic smoke rings again.

An epic and awesome conclusion for the Heisei period. I love how it brings the story back to its roots and reintroduces the oxygen destroyer in terms of moral discussions, and as a giant freaking monster! This movie gets everything right in terms of Godzilla storytelling, writing, creature design, and of course monster battles!

Don't get me wrong, anytime Godzilla stomps something it's fun. But this movie goes one better, both ties back to the original "Gojira" - quite well, too, even bringing back the original female lead - and its more serious tone, and gives Godzilla both a very serious timebomb and a reason to get REALLY pissed off.

Has some great callbacks to the original 1954 movie, and a surprisingly brutal and high-stakes plot and ending. Worth the watch!

You can't go into ANY Kaiju film expecting high-art, but if you like Kaiju this is good stuff. A surprisingly emotional flick for Godzilla fans like myself, I felt that this was a marvelous ending to the franchise--and Ifukube's final Godzilla score is as powerful as ever.

As bad and entertaining as any other Godzilla movie.

All the classic hallmarks of a Godzilla film, with some nice references to the OG 1954 movie that make this a great ending to the Heisei era.

Yes, the stupid exploding dinosaur movie almost made me cry! Shoutout to the parts where its just Alien, love the potent ties to the original, long live Junior.

There seems to be something missing from the 1990s Godzilla flicks. I donno, maybe the older ones had more goofy charm or whatever.

Besides the most '90s mise en scene ever with the nerd in a Santa Barbara t-shirt and a Mac poster in the background, it's your average Godzilla movie: too much human plot, but some seriously hilarious, awesome action scenes and explosions.

I loved the irradiated Godzilla and the callbacks to the very first film. But for a coda to the Heisei era, Toho could've brought a lot more to the table than a Xenomorph knockoff.

Some good ideas but rips off better movies in the process.

A fun Godzilla movie with surprisingly decent special effects. The director was obviously going for an Aliens vibe during the parts with the small Destroyers, and it worked for the most part.

while they don't need to, this was the "passing of the guard" episode, from Godzilla snr to Godzilla Jnr, with more wrestling in rubber. Made MY afternoon complete

Aside from Godzilla and Destroyah LOOKING cool, I had expected more from this movie, considering it's time and budget.
