Josie (Sally O'Neill), a New York showgirl with a mind of her own and a heart of gold, finds herself stranded on the island of Fiji. While seeking a way home she is befriended by a local man (legendary Olympic swimmer Duke Kahanamoku) who gets her a job working as a barmaid at "The Bamboo Bar". Oh, so melodramatic. It was like watching a theater performance. The "star" is Sally O'Neil. Not really a performance style which looks very good today, but the gal got personality. A tough lady stranded in Fiji and serving the men booze. Along comes Reginald Sharland, a war veteran with a dramatic fear of fire. Sharland was just dull. The movie had it's minor moments thanks to O'Neil, but the end was so poor that the experience ended up feeling very empty.
