Same lead but different story. She's still relatable & likable & I could easily watch more of these w/ her as a Bill Bixby On The Run Type Who's Trying Not To "Hulk" Out. If the girl's group home setting was meant to deliver a social commentary on female oppression, the filmmakers, thankfully, seem unsure about what that is. The subtext to some "sex" scenes seems un-PC - which is refreshing. What doesn't work for me is the end, which surprises, but makes the lead weaker than I wanted/thought.

This film series continues with another good entry. Emily Perkins gives another good performance this time around. The script is not as good as the first one but still has plenty of good moments. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Top badass moment? "I'm going to kill it. Get me all the sharp things you can find." No running away and falling over for her, Brigitte's outcome-focused approach to dealing with an issue would be welcomed by many in the private sector, keen for employees with a clear vision of what they want to achieve and how they're going to achieve it. Mission Drift isn't something the viewer needs to worry about in this movie. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Better than the first in my opinion and it honestly features the most gruesome and inventive death in any horror movie I have ever seen. The style, editing and soundtrack blend together perfectly to set the mood for the film, while it still retains the dark humor of the first. This is one of the best horror movies ever made.

It undermines the first one's stellar ending, it's very poorly written, the editing's crappy, and the soundtrack doesn't work, but it's so fun overall!

Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed doesn't quite reach the heights established by its predecessor, but for a horror sequel it does a great job. It's not a rehash of previously seen material, it takes its characters in new directions, and it maintains the intelligence that was easily appreciable in the first installment. It also has better werewolf effects. It loses its edge in its final half hour, but on the whole this is still a very solid movie and far better than you can expect from a horror sequel.

The first movie was great, this one however was not. I struggled to stay interested in the story but it was just a bunch of half-baked ideas thrown together.

Much like the first, the flick is decently made considering the lower than average budget. Also like the first too much emphasis spent on teenage angst considering the material being presented.

The series continues to use lycanthropy as a parable for modern social issues. And while clearly not as original as the first Ginger Snaps, its steadfast embrace of the "devil within" lends to some jaw-dropping deconstructions of modern movie tropes ranging from Home Alone to, quite remarkably, movies that came after this one such as The Ward.

An entirely different movie from the original, but just as good. The dark humor and witty script are gone but instead are replaced with a great sense of atmosphere and a more serious approach. There's a criminal lack of the enchanting Katie Isabelle but this is still one of the best horror sequels of the last decade. Also, the new theme perfectly fits the creepy tone of the movie, but isn't quite as fantastic as the original (which is one of the best themes I've ever heard.)

The Ghost character was interesting enough but otherwise this was unremarkable.

"Where did it come from? The infinite darkness?" "I don't think so... more likely the suburbs." Keeps the snappy dialogue and the teen angst of the first film, whilst quietly ditching the tortured menstruation metaphor. The introduction of the Ghost character was inspired - she had some very funny moments - although on the other hand, it could have done without the reappearance of Ginger. Overall, a very entertaining sequel.

Far better than it has any right to be. Captures the essence of lycanthropy's horror (forced change) and has a great setup for the finale.

It's not that the first movie did not have a good idea with menstruation, but the director messed up totally. He spoiled everything with cliché after cliché scenes and the character directing was a drag. Here in a sequel monster effects are still horrible rubber masks, but the new director managed to build up a decent horror flick. And the most irritating character (Tatiana Maslany) turned out to be the very good actress in the end.

It's not really bad per se, but I generally find it hard to enjoy films where every character besides the protagonist is either a smug sexist dickwad or an annoying loony little brat. Even if that's supposed to kind of be the point. Emily Perkins is love.
