Gilan qizi

It always intrigues me when coming across movies from Soviet era Azerbaijan. Often the movies are quite good too. Azerbaijan film making was part of the Soviet machine, yet it is it's own thing, with it's own exotic look. Gilan qizi [Gilan's Daughter] (1928) does have a lot of appeal. Of course, the lack of translation hurts following the story a little bit, but in this case things are fairly easy to comprehend. It was certainly a lot easier to watch than I had feared.
