Gidget Goes to Rome

Like a lushly-photographed '60's television show for naive teens. And apparently in the '60's, no Americans knew what an Italian accent sounded like--many of the accents in this flick are clearly French.

Second verse of the same vapid nonsense served up in Hawaii, this time transplanted to Rome - outside of the cultural ignorance on display (French, Italian, what's the difference?) this is fairly easy to take in an indiscriminate way, with Landis fun as the dotty chaperone, though the recasting of all characters save Darren gives this little intrinsic link to past entries (despite the use of clumsily recreated flashbacks).
