wow. they totally solved the prequel's overload by dropping even more useless characters and stuff in here. having so much shit going on and none of it elicit the faintest notion of interest...that is an art in itself. any random screencap you take of bill murray here will sum up whatever you need to know. if ivan reitman hadn't passed on, he surely would've passed on this.

Didn't impress me as much as the previous movie, although I preferred the setting in this movie as well as the original Ghostbusters appearing in more of the movie. Mckenna Grace is once again the standout star of the movie, although Emily Alyn Lind did a good job too and was an interesting character. I thought the climax felt a little rushed to me so I'm not sure what some people are talking about there. Overall a decent movie, but nothing that stands out much.

I barely remember the last movie and this won't help the franchise. People liked the original movies because they were different, and the actors knew they could ham it up a bit, but with a young cast , they really can't deliver that same type of ridiculous snark. The presence of the old guys doesn't help either. Aykroyd and Hudson are genuine enough, but Murray feels like hes making a Garfield movie or something. Skip it unless you really adore the franchise.

It's a bit better than Afterlife in the sense there is at least an effort to tell a story here, but it's also just so boring and bored. Never have been a fan of this franchise and nostalgia seems big here, specially in the second half. Liked the villain, despite the generic creature design. And the young characters have enough charisma to carry this thing for quite some time. Classic case of not the worst blockbuster of the year, but also one I will certainly not remember in a week from now.

This movie proves Bill Murray is a good actor because he almost made me believe he was happy to be on set that week. Dragging the baggage of the last movie along unfortunately prevented this from feeling like an actual Ghostbusters thingee. I'd have loved to just focus on Ray assembling a team of esoteric knowledge geeks/experts, with Kumail along as the comedic odd man out. The threat develops too late into the story and once it arrives it's just a wet (cold?) fart. What could have been...

This must be one of the “Thanks for Breaking It, Hero”-est movies I’ve ever seen; if the numerous protagonists just hadn’t been around to do any of the stuff they did none of the problems that they later had to clean up would have happened in the first place!! When ur so hungry for a crumb of ghost pussy u almost plunge the world into eternal frozen holocaust lmao. Nevertheless it passed the time just fine, I wasn’t bored or nothin.

I enjoyed Frozen Empire simply because I liked all the characters; the original Ghostbusters, the new cast from Afterlife & the plethora of new ones introduced here. My main issue is with villain who is barely present & mainly presented through exposition. Barring his entrance & the final fight, he gets a single scene that is played for a joke. An extra 20 minutes to give him more personality would have gone a long way. Nevertheless, I was entertained. It's not a classic, just a solid sequel.

I'm not going to say I HATE it but I don't recommend it. There's some decent nostalgia here for those who need it, for sure, and it's put together competently. It just feels lifeless. I didn't see Afterlife and I'm not a massive Ghostbusters fan in general, but at least the original was FUN. And if you're going to be serious, make characters/situations worth investing in.

My first impression is that I probably didn't enjoy it as much as the first one, but I still enjoyed it. There's arguably too many characters now, so some of the original cast like Finn and Logan Kim get more glossed over (though Kumail might've been my favorite addition, he's hilarious in his role), the sub-plot between Phoebe and the ghost felt kind of forced, and there's maybe not enough actual ghost busting. But, it manages to stay light-hearted, funny, and entertaining.

This movie has a supporting cast the size of Lord of the Rings. Lose 5 characters and cut 20-30 minutes of the movie out and it goes from just barely funny enough to be decent, to probably a pretty good movie.

There are a few fun individual moments and lines, but it's mostly pretty forgettable. It doesn't have the chemistry or freshness of the original films and the nostalgia of seeing the original cast reunited wore off in the previous film. I do think the main cast has strong chemistry and Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt provide some great comedic moments, but the main storyline feels repetitive to what the franchise has already done, but with CGI.

The saddest example of diminishing returns I've seen in a long while. There's still charm in the cast, though, but the script is one weak cup of ectoplasm.

I’m being very generous giving this a score of 40, because it’s a real mess. I really liked ‘Afterlife’, so it’s a genuine shame this is so poor. It kind of starts off fine, but quickly descends into a car crash of characters, plot threads and half-baked concepts. The finale is bizarrely small-scale and underwhelming. None of its ideas or characters are given space to breathe in what is an overstuffed, shallow experience. I did like the cast and the nostalgia kick, but really disappointing.

A triumph in generic corporate film-making. A fairly bland, standard plot with tepid, generation spanning humor. Offensively inoffensive. A large and diverse cast of all your favorite forgettable characters and actors from better films. Overflowing with member berries and nostalgia bait for product craving consumers of all ages and backgrounds.

Better than expected based on the lukewarm reviews. It does a lot of things right and is stylistically closer to the original(s) than Afterlife. After one watch, I think I actually prefer this one. Aykroyd and Hudson were incorporated quite nicely while Murray has basically an extended cameo. The script has too many elements and brings back most characters from the previous film while adding new ones, which causes lack of focus and makes the finale feel rushed. Still, I could watch another one.

I was very apprehensive about this one. The original Ghostbusters was a huge childhood memory which I remember fondly. The subsequent sequels have been a huge disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It sort of follows the original Ghostbusters plot and has some throwbacks which I enjoyed. It's not a masterpiece but in the end it was alright.

Passable nostalgia bait if expectations are kept relatively low, but it aims for less than Afterlife and barely succeeds on its own terms. The effects are hit and miss, and the main villain is rendered in a highly questionable fashion. Why Sony persists with this middling IP is anyone's guess as the films haven't made decent money since the 80's, and even the original is overpraised. Hopefully it ends here.

It has many good ideas... And that's its problem: it doesn't have enough time to pay attention to any of them, leading to subplots that go nowhere. The climax is cool enough, tho.

My favorite since the original Ghostbusters. Brings back those character and blends perfectly with new character. My ONLY criticism would be that there are so many characters, each don't really get enough screen time. Oh, and more bustin' needed!

An entirely empty film with very few redeeming factors outside of the sets, props, etc, and a small handful of narrative elements, this is type of franchise entry that I despise. Can't stand when movies like this have countless bits that are entirely designed to have people recognize them and say "oh, like from the good Ghostbusters movie!" I wish they'd developed the human-ghost relationship a bit more. A bleak and cynical effort.

I understand the lukewarm reviews on the whole. Personally, I didn't expect too much and was satisfied w the bulk of what was on offer here. I wanted a little fan service and some new blood elements. It's not perfect, but that's what I got. Some bad CGI in spots took me out of it a little, but overall it was decent enough. This is really Grace's movie and she performed well. 6.2.

"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" is yet another installment in the Ghostbuster series. Fans of the previous films are likely to enjoy this one as well. However, it doesn't bring anything new to the table, with its most notable aspect being the homage it pays to its predecessors.

Every young character is sarcastic, smug and unphased. Like nerdy Kardashians. It's unclear whether the goal was to be funny or impress tweens. Either way, their busting doesn't make anyone feel good. Highlights are the returning originals, Patton Oswalt giving much needed energy, and the special effects do deliver. After a dull pain of a first hour, the second half wraps things up more competently. It shouldn't be 2 hours anyway. 30 teenage minutes trimmed off the first half would do wonders.

Once again I guess I'm in somewhat of a minority here as these movies are giving me exactly what I want them to. I'm invested, I'm having a ton of fun, I'm not at all fatigued by the nostalgia-baiting, and I am here for Mckenna Grace's continuing trajectory as not only this franchise's MVP, but a thorough breakout star. I'm not in love with it, but on a "just entertain me" level, I have no notes. Keep making these movies just like this, and you're probably gonna get me every single time.

I didn't think it was so bad. Finn Wolfhard didn't have much to do. Final battle took a bit too long. I don't mind the nostalgia bait, but we didn't need half the characters. Did they cut out a love plot between the girls? Took awhile for Kumail to be funny. Fav scenes: grandma's sex dungeon; payoff with the matches.
