Get Santa

It's familiar, but there's a bit of drama, some laughs, and a helping of Christmas magic. Not too shabby.

The slapstick is cheap and the family drama is undercooked, but overall, Get Santa is an absolutely bonkers adventure that has the heart of the Christmas spirit just right.

Not many films can claim a place as an annual staple, although that's always the aim. While this makes for a strange entry in to "This is England" series (check the cast) I could live with it popping up on the box every year

Part Santa Clause, part Shawshank for kids. No classic, but it's a pleasant enough family holiday movie with some solid performances and a neatly developed story. Even if there is more than one farting reindeer too many, it throws snowballs all over Nativity 3, British families' other Xmas choice this season.
