The longest intro ever. It was at least an hour before the actual film started with all the rest of it being a flashback where not a lot happens. The film starts shakily when, in the midst of a robbery, one of the robbers just starts crying and pisses out his attempt at an Oscar which was both hilariously unexpected and absolutely awful. After that, expectations were low but on reflection I think it was deliberate, because the rest of the film was actually ok in comparison.

50 Cent isn't good as a rapper either. He lacks charisma, decent rhymes and most important of all it makes me sick that everytime that something looks terrible, he gets slammed on the front cover or page and people eat it up like abused dogs. But enough about his other dire associated accomplishements and his appalling, dreadful music. Too bad he actually "got rich". Abysmal and dismissingly depraved, incapable, inferior, erroneous and incompetently shoddy so-called movie. An embarassment.

GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' is paint-by-numbers hood melodrama with a script that would barely past muster as a direct-to-DVD offering. Overlong, inconsistent, and full of cliches, the film constantly gets in its own way. 50 Cent's obvious charisma, which comes across remarkably well whenever he's onstage, completely disappears when he's doing anything else and gets absolutely swallowed by this misguided hot mess of a movie.

Well wrought saga exploring 50 Cent's rise to fame in a terse and powerfully told story, which may conform to the underdog formula, but ultimately rises above it to become quite moving in its own right. Sheridan's direction is masterful, though its very American characters often seem strangely filtered through an Irish sensibility, which occasionally stretches the credibility of the interactions between its characters. 50 Cent proves his acting chops with a very fine leading performance.

Well the music was good. Besides that there wasn't much to love. Look I like 50 Cent, and I think the story (sorta based on his life) is worth telling but don't have him as the lead. He is a great rapper, but he isn't an actor. He brings zippo to this film. Howard tries to bring some credibility to the film, but it really isn't worth it. I have now seen two Fifty Cent films and he has blown in both roles. Please just stick to music.

He is such a bad actor that I can't even buy him as a rapper. How could he be that bad? Also, how did this man get so famous with so little charisma? He has none, he totally lacks it.

I really wish that he'd just die. Or that i would before I subject myself to another rapper that thinks he can act.

Moderatly atmospheric fake biopic checks off the predictable elements but still has a palpable sense of place. 50 is notably awful, but costar Terrence Howard steals every scene he's in. Occasionally austere and emotionally affecting in spite of an all-time awful leading man.

Dude can't act. In fact, everyone but Terrance Howard gives a terrible performance in a real dog's breakfast of a film. Predictable and slow-paced.
