Too much time was spent on uninteresting dog and mole side characters.

After spending his first few years working under Tex Avery, Robert Clampett steps into the director's chair and shows that a lot of the wackiness associated with a Tex Avery cartoon has rubbed off on him. Highly frenetic pace loaded with good gags, makes this cartoon a success.
