A very hard movie for me to rate. I really liked the premise and idea of the story, I loved both Rockwell and Clement in their roles and I liked the charm Angarano brought to his character. Unfortunately all the great things about this film are dragged down by some simply awful things: vomit/crap jokes, Hector Jimenez's character as a whole, way too much stuff that doesn't fit the movie that is just odd for the sake of being odd. I think it's Hess's best, but that's not really saying much.

Gentlemen Broncos is proudly weird and darkly comic, similar to inland-hell films like Napolean Dynamite, existing in a world trapped culturally in the leftover relics on past decades. Writer/Director Jared Hess has a good knack for illustrating the small, misguided dreams of America's misbegotten with a sense of optimism. Plenty of black humor in the weird as hell people on display that somehow makes even the lowest characters sympathetic.

I feel weird loving this movie. After all. I hated Napoleon Dynamite. But this one had a charm I couldn't deny and now I sit here alone and confused.

And that 20 is earned entirely by Jemaine Clement, who did nothing wrong except sign on for a horrible, horrible movie.

This is personal filmmaking, surveying the private emotions that generally embarrass people or make us feel out of step -- a daring proposition in an era that frantically insists upon marketable conformity.

Very Awkward from start to finish, there really is not a moment that is not filled with awkward tension. Very well done, it gives a few deep laughs, but it does tell a story behind all the awkwardness. Very good story, deepened with the light hearted atmosphere presented.

The opening credits were neat. Yep.

Missing the subtle charm that came with 'Napoleon Dynamite' the film still manages to capture that Utah small mormon town feel with all of its oddities. Honestly the offbeat aesthetic makes Broncos possibly worth the watch but I'm not sure of that.. It just feels like it tried to be too much like 'Napoleon Dynamite' instead of its own film.

Not stunning, weak plot with too much conveniences. Fantastic cast, unfortunately not enough to make the film. Its quirkiness got in its own way, I fear.

I get the joke, but good god, this could've gotten across in a 6-minute Kids in the Hall sketch.

Unfortunately, everything feels far too forced and doesn't even come close to having the charm that Napoleon Dynamite or the already weaker Nacho Libre had and that is absolutely necessary for such a quirky comedy.

Devoid of charm and laughs. Committed performances can't begin to save this.

Really looked forward to this due to Clement og Mike White. Due to their apperance in it I give it 50 although I shouldnt, since their roles were so incredibly stupid that I wouldn't have found it funny even when 15 years old. I tried to make myself 15 yrs old while watching the first 10 minutes, after half an hour I jumped through the rest of it, just to see that it was the same crap all the way to the end.

A very dry, whimsical and niche comedy from the director/writer of Napoleon Dynamite, starring Sam Rockwell, and Jemaine Clement of Flight of The Conchords. There's really nothing quite like this, and it will most likely be a marmite affair for most. As someone who regularly reads and writes, and as a fan of science fiction (be it pulp or literary), I found this very amusing. The satire is often on point, and when things transpire into almost Lynchian levels of absurdity, it's just funny.

In a perfect world Jared Hess would make movies like Napoleon Dynamite and Gentlemen Broncos set in every single American state.

Collection of original ideas and intriguingly quirky characters unfortunately never coheres into a satisfying whole - the plot never really shifts into high gear, and Angarano while likable enough, doesn't have the heft to be a solid enough fulcrum to anchor the film. Despite its shortcomings, it is very entertaining at times, with Clement's hilarious Rickman impression standing out, along with a double hit of Rockwell doing two disparate versions of the same character.

Despite the middle-schoolers' humour that fills it, or perhaps because of its consistently understated delivery--a quality reflected elsewhere in the film's lovely colour palette--the film passes in pleasant amusement, enhanced by the surprisingly touching sentimentality subtly communicated by Michael Angarano.

Ahhhhhhhhh! God, I wanted to love this. It was close too. Clement and Rockwell are guys I love and their personal enjoyment with the project is clearly evident. It just never connects the way it should and that is a pity because this is the kind of movie I would buy three copies of and give two away. Still worth checking out but not quite worth sharing. Pity.

Very odd and VERY silly, but pleasant enough if you're in the mood to just go with the flow. Without Michael Angarano's innate charm, this flick probably wouldn't work at all.

Quite probably the best opening credits I have ever seen in any film. And Michael Angarano has buckets of charm and hopefully rises above this career-wise, as the rest of the film is junk.

Jared Hess should stick to opening credits AND NOTHING ELSE. 1 point for Sam Rockwell being Sam Rockwell.

Bizarre. I had higher hopes but this is pretty incoherent at times. A couple of funny visuals do not save the film.

I really would have found this way more funny if it had Broncanous in it the entire time. Sam Rockwell is pretty much amazing in it and quotable, "Cyclops there! Cyclops there!"

Funny oddness has become Hess' gimmick and for that this will probably be the last movie of his I will see for a while. I didn't enjoy many parts of this and the few smirks I let out didn't go very far. Clement got this movie 50 bonus points from myself being a huge FOTC fan.

Hess attempts to relive the offbeat charm of his debut, "Napoleon Dynamite," but it's stilted and forced with the opening credits being by far the best part.
