The scene in the bar is very good, but I never really got into Keaton's character until the end. The same could be said of Robert Downey Jr's character (who was VERY odd). I'd only recommend this if you're a fan of baseball.

I feel like something got lost somewhere along the way here. Parts of it got my eyes rolling (ending + RDJ’s character + radio personality), but of course Michael Keaton saves it.

Birdman, but written by Don DeLillo so it doesn't suck shit. It basically feels like a lower-tier Hal Hartley film, complete with Yo La Tengo soundtrack. Wish I cared about baseball as much as DeLillo does.

I liked this complex movie. The main story has a good main storyline that is complicated by a layered story that is reinforcing the idea that baseball imitates life. The casting was well done. Michael Keaton is great in almost anything, but in this movie he seems a little held back. There were a couple of good classic Michael Keaton outbursts during the bar scene. The only problem/question that I had about the movie: What was up with Mrs. Toyoda, the taxi driver, and her grandson?

This movie is boring and never really takes off. If you know what happens in Game 6 then that excitement is another missing piece of the puzzle. The cast does a good job but the material they are given is lacking any joy.
