A story about a 13 year old girl passionate about the science of climate change. Her home life is full or turmoil and change, that threatens her year long study of trees. Her mother abandons her, and she is taken in by her unconventional grandmother. They struggle to find common ground, but settle into their relationships. There are several interesting story diversions along the way. Perla Haney-Jardine was a 14 yr old delight.
