Not a bad movie, but it doesn't stand up well when compared to the series. Old characters don't get enough time but new characters don't get fleshed out very well either... the only one with enough screentime to do such is Edward. Mustang, Al, Winry, etc are barely seen. The plotline isn't all that interesting and probably wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny. I feel like the whole brothers-trying-to-unite could have been done much better.

The series ended on a beautiful note; the movie fell heart-breakingly short of wondrous, almost destroying the magic of the series' ending. Entertaining, but not well-done.

Fantastic finish to a clever, beautiful, and enchanting series.

A pretty solid Fullmetal Alchemist story. It's about as good as the second half of the original FMA but not as good as the original story and ideas from Hiromu Arakawa.

Great animation, but I deeply loathe everything about it's story. I also hated the original animated "adaptation" of FMA so if you like that perhaps you'd feel differently.

Nah, screw it, I really dug this, maybe if only because I desperately needed closure. The tone of the series is mostly gone, but the characters are very much still alive here, which is more than a lot of movies have going for them in the first place. This was fun and had more than enough moments of joy and hope for me to stay on board. Even though by the end it didn't feel totally up to the standards of the series, I was satisfied.

Big fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, and I thought this was actually a really fun and satisfying conclusion. I'm only annoyed with how the the series ended on a cliffhanger in the first place for the sake of a movie.

Like others have said, the film felt rushed and did destroy some of the magic of the ending of the series. It's still always great to see the Elric Bros., but you definitely wish there was a better story that came of this.

A pretty mediocre ending to one of the greatest animes of all time. It's really a shame that the movie didn't live up to the ending of the anime, and really makes me wish they never made this thing. Still, all said and told, it's still FMA, and therefore it's still pretty good.

The fight scenes were quite good, especially the ones involving the homunculi. I'd say it's not a stand alone film, you need to have watched the anime series to understand some of the scenes in the movie. The story could have been clearer, it went from one place to the other and got confusing for a while there. If you are a fan of the show, check it out, others might want to pass though.

While I LOVED the FMA series, the movie made little sense at times, and seemed rushed. The way they just tied everything up then ended didnt do justice to the series.

I wish they'd just left well enough alone after the great ending to the series, but this is more than acceptable. Was fun to see on the big screen too.

Almost undermines the beautifully bittersweet way the series ended.

I think it had to be more fluent and clever. Neither the story nor the ending suit the serie.
