Frozen Fever

Pandering, low-effort fanservice. At least it's over quickly.

Altogether too fanservice-y: Elsa again sings that the "cold never bothered me anyway," Anna wakes up with messy hair, Olaf makes another joke almost exactly like the "I don't have a skull... or bones" joke and mentions his love of summer, another boat tipping off the pier, another sauna gag. That said, there are a couple laughs with Kristoff and Sven. It was amusing (and perhaps a Back to the Future reference?) to see Hans have a manure mishap.

Frozen Fever (2015) is basically a animated music video. And at the same time like those old Fleischer Studio's "Screen Songs" of the 1930s. It is what it is. Squeezing one more song out of the Frozen franchise.

With its recycled gags and middling song, "Frozen Fever" is completely transparent as a cash-in on the success of its predecessor, but it's harmless and would likely be appreciated by younger fans of the 2013 hit.

Female Royalty. Singing. And you sit there and think it'll all be over in a few minutes but then the dull horror slowly creeps up on you that the main feature you've brought your own little princess to is probably also crap and then you have a little cry to yourself before shutting your eyes and going to sleep.

Obviously a cash-in, nowhere close to being on a par with Frozen, but it's not unbearable or anything.

So I finally watched this after seven years of thinking about it. It's fine. But because it's Frozen I will rate it better than fine, because I cannot objectively view any piece of Frozen media. I just can't. I love it too much.

On Anna's birthday, Elsa and Kristoff are determined to throw her the best party ever. Unfortunately, Elsa's icy powers endanger more than just the party.

Not bad for a short, had the actual cast instead of just focusing on the sidekicks or something, and a new song too. Not sure what else you'd expect from this! I wonder if Elsa is the adopted child of an ice witch or something, because she's clearly got the hots for her sister...

11 points to Olaf !

I really liked Frozen, it had amazing songs and breathtaking animation. This short feels like a quick cash-in on the Frozen fever taking over the fan base though. The song created is terrible and features recylced jokes and barely any Idina Menzel (which is beyond dumb, she was the voice of Frozen). On top of that the animation is not fully shaded in some scenes. Overall this was dissapointing and I'm not looking forward too Frozen 2 now...
