The characters are immature and the story glorifies being a yuppie in the 80's, including wearing suits while having contempt for institutions. But it had funny moments. It's clear to see how this is a sketch for Ally McBeal with childishness being presented as eccentricity. One of the best parts is that it's not a romantice comedy - the only romantic relationship in the movie is stable and not the issue.

From the Hip a fresh legal dramedy from the 80's! Who knew! John Hurt's plays a lawyer gone wild winning winnable cases with the most convincing of arguments! It's fun to watch just to see how he does it!
