Not among my favourite Stephen Chow films, although its best jokes rank up there alongside the best of any film he's made. I particularly loved the zany idea of a gun that alternately fires forwards and backwards. But gags of that standard are few and far between, and all the filler material is rather dull. The 007-spoofing doesn't add much at all, and many of the performances seem wooden or phoned-in. Chow has done much more complete and entertaining films since this early effort.

Not perfect, but it also subverts expectations in frequently ingenious ways.

Considering this is a HK comedy from the 90s, I kind of dreaded watching this but there's actually problematic offense here, and while far from every joke lands, there's so damn many I spent more than half the running time laughing anyway (mind you, this being from the HK golden era, there's also a very grin and violent scene with zero laughs somewhere in the middle).

Has its funny moments, and a pair of unexpected Wong Kar-Wai spoofs. But it's also filled with the level of amateurism that you often see in Hong Kong flicks of this era. Going by production value alone, it's hard to think this came out only three years before the first Austin Powers.

What did I expect from a Stephen Chow James Bond parody, anyway? There was a lot more blood than I expected. Some unfunny jokes were dragging on and on. Fav scene: when "Q" shows off different useless spy gadgets.

Depressingly stupid in a bad way, with some unforgivably bad jokes and attempts at parody. Though there are some fun moments of slapstick and violence, and Chow is mildly entertaining as his usual hyper-competent naïf, it's not enough. (I also got tricked into watching an awful dub.)

Not really that funny but it's certainly ape shit crazy with pratfalls, jokes, brutality and while not all of it works it's still fun and never gets boring.

Another extremely bizarre film from the mind of Stephen Chow.

Really funny moments, but the production seemed a bit lackluster, and it was a bit too graphical for my tastes.

Funny spy movie. On par with those other movies you liked from Stephen Chow.

If you're a Bond fan, a martial arts fan and a fan of silly humour then this is probably a movie for you.

Sporadically astonishingly hilarious.
