There had already been produced Hollywood and UK adaptations of this story in the 1930s, Beauty and the Boss (1932) with Marian Marsh & Warren William and The Church Mouse (1934) starring Laura La Plante & Ian Hunter. In 1941 came the Swedish and Danish productions with Marguerite Viby playing the lead role in both language versions. This is the Swedish one and it's a harmless little movie, but of course today's 'victim-generation' would cry #MeToo all over the "harassment" in the workplace.
