There is some life to Frisco Sal (1945), but not as much as I would have hoped. Felt Turhan Bey was a bit too bland in his role, and Susanna Foster wasn't exactly the most interesting actress around either. Her career more or less ended that year too. What gives this energy are the well-established cast of supporting actors. True professionals, doing what they could with their time on screen.
