What a cast! It's a shame I don't remember anything about it, besides its slow pacing and formulaic structure. Disappointing given the talent involved.

There are only 2 scenes that rise above the generic rom-com tropes and clichés this film is submerged in, which is ironic because both of those scenes are ostensibly what the movie's supposed to be about. Both scenes actually wrestle w/ the fall-out and probable implications of the only-in-the-movies decision the 2 leads make, but the rest of the film is as immediately familiar as any Katherine Heigl film w/ the heroine inexorably going gaga over a much-in-demand, yet mostly insensitive jerk

Despite having a seriously great cast this whole concept just feels like someone was watching a Louis CK routine and took it way too seriously. Hamm's outburst was a good scene but otherwise this is generally formulaic and ill-advised - no wonder it ends up going all cliche romcom at the end.

I'll take"I'm gonna fuck the shit out of you" over "you complete me" any day. Love this movie, it made me cry like a bitch like 10 times. Y'all just mad.

A good cast mired in a highly contrived, dull, and lazy story that has very little understanding of the subject it purports to examine. The parenting subject is just a pretext to make it seem like this cliched romcom is more than what it actually is.

Too obvious, too cliche, cast is not mixing with each other really. Its a wholesome movie for killing time but that's it.

It is quite funny and has an appropriately high concept for a rom-com. It doesn't nail the romance and especially falters on the dramatic climax, but the comedy is pretty good. Unsurprising giving the fantastic cast. I do wish there was a little more of Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig, who are now the funniest couple in two separate movies.

On one hand I shouldn't be shocked that the writer of Kissing Jessica Stein came up with an extremely predictable (not to mention heteronormative) ending. On the other hand, I'm even more annoyed that she's done this to me twice now.

I'm usually not a fan of the neurotic-people-yapping-for-90min-straight genre, but something about this, I don't know, is nice. I like those people. I can't tell you why, but I do.

I could have accepted - maybe even enjoyed - the tacky, generic plot, if it weren't for the dumbfuck, boring characters and the incredibly annoying baby talk.

Friends with Kids isn't bad. It's not boring, it's generally pretty intelligent, it has some good actors, and it attempts to make a point -- although it misses the boat by taking the easy route out at the end. This could have been a disastrous project, but it winds up to be moderately entertaining. Is it great? No. It chickens out near the end, leading to a very unsatisfactory conclusion, and definitely flubbed a chance to be able to use the rom-com clichés while also making its point.

It should had given more time for Rudolph and O'Dowd, the most charismatic characters; the ending is to predictable and melodramatic, the film would definetly benefit from some more contrieve finale.

What starts off as a kind of fresh and interesting movie becomes the old lovers-and-friends story and you know what's going to happen and all you can hope is that it happens well. It does happen well, but it's disappointing because until that last act, the movie is really unlike anything I've seen.

Jon Hamm and Kristin Wiig are the best people in this and they get the least amount of screentime. Wiig has like three lines. As if to prove my point, the best scene is the one where Hamm acts the most. It might not have been so mediocre if Jennifer Westfeldt wasn't such a poor actor.

In spite of my general distaste for Friends With Kids, let me cast my vote on the side of those who liked the ending. I wish more of the film had had that scene's fresh mixture of casual banter and breathless intimacy, instead of sounding like half-remembered dialogue from a movie we've all seen too many times before.

So good, I occasionally felt uncomfortable watching it, like I was at a party I wasn't invited to. Add to that, the fact that I had a very similar idea a few months before this movie came out and I couldn't help but love it. Each couple had its own unique, realistic problems and, while I disagree with the finale, it was beautiful and touching.

There is nothing surprising about it what so ever, but passing the one hour mark - when it finally starts being drama - it's actually quite alright.

It could have followed either of the other couples and been at least watchable. The main characters were so obnoxious and unsympathetic, and each time they got ready to talk to each other (which was often), I wanted to turn it off. When a film has Kirsten Wiig in the cast, it should at least use her!

Predictability isn't always bad, but this one wasn't that charming. Good enough premise, but script needed a lot more polishing - it's not that funny or involving. AScott is a likable lead, but wri/dir JenniferW made the wrong choice in casting herself as female lead - the underused KristenW instead could've made this a bit better. And casting MeganF for an acting-role is just stupid...and as eyecandy there're better. *Preview*: #12#, popcorn, story, (reviews), A Scott/3-2, Kristen W/7-3, R2.

I found this movie hilarious. I consistently got major laughs when the whole cast was together (Chris O'Dowd should be in every movie from here on out as far as I'm concerned). The film is predictable but it's so entertaining I felt no ill will towards it. It at least did the predictable things with a brutal honesty and (often) a dark sense of humor. It has become one of my favorite romantic comedies.

It is not to say there are not funny moments in this film, there are. It does however seem like there are not enough funny moments, especially considering how talented the cast is. Westfeldt might have taken on too much responsibility as most of the time it's just a few chuckles, then some brutally honest awkwardness. Still I didn't dislike it.

Quite by the numbers. It'd be nice to see more rom-coms that try to innovate the genre but I mean, this kind of thing is what the main audience wants, not overly critical people like us. They want two people who should be together to get together. Cue some drama, and then it happens. Though I didn't find the movie funny and the drama was only okay. The acting was fine, the script brought up some nice issues about relationships. Ultimately forgettable but not bad in the least.

There's some good bits here (god I just love the "breakdown dinner" scenes in any movie, even if its cliched) but I can't buy the motivations of the main characters and the ending is generic. Score is not a grade.

Guess it would be great as an episode of Seinfeld -- these two friends look like Jerry and Elaine --, because this one has many enjoyable characters and situations. It begins as a friendzone essay film -- ok, not an essay film, I'm just kidding, but it really starts in a cool fashion -- and ends like an ordinary joyful rom-com. It's a predictable but good ride, actually.

The plot of this movie, its very core, is so unbelievable that it detracts from anything else. Also contributing to its demise is its effort to market itself as a comedy, comparing it to the likes of Brides Maids. This film is not Brides Maids. It's a drama, and a poorly executed one at that.

This a strong indie dramatic feature about two friends who decide to have a baby and jointly raise a child. This is comical, heartwarming, emotional, romantic, and dramatic. -- Imagine the Indie Version of "He's just Not that into You" / "Sidewalks of New York" this is what you could get.

Sincerely underrated and unfairly panned by critics. aside from actually having most of the cast of Bridesmaids this movie feels like this year's lady-helmed comedy of the same caliber. Jennifer Westfeldt is a quick wit.

'Friends with Kids' could be a great film, were it not for the main characters. It's the "friends" that bring the most drama. The ups and downs of their relationships are much more interesting than the manufactured relationship of non-couple Julie and Jason. The eye-rolls come mainly from the two of them. They seem to try too hard to be subversive until they try too hard to fit into sitcom-like conventions. The main characters as outsiders almost works until they give in and do a complete 180.

Great performances from Adam Scott and John Hamm (although Hamm wasn't used much throughout the movie). Westfeldt's character left something to be desired, but I guess that was part of her character's charm. Abrupt ending, but enjoyable movie overall.
