Gets a little overdone by the end. *Pours lemon juice over these Gene Shalit filets to let them marinate a little I will always love the trope of black characters going "nope" when they realize what movie they suddenly get dropped in.

Bond Review: I guess he bit off more than he could chew. Honest Review: Huge fan of delayed titles, with The OA being the only other instance I can think of where titles made me cheer. Time is Precious Review: Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome on already!

I found the direction more impressive than the script. Noa's two vastly different dates are pretty fun, and I enjoyed them a good deal more than gross elements later in the film.

Just another torture porn flick with the good looking dude being the bad guy and the chick being a helpless victim. Doesn't really earn the "porn" part of the subgenre, because there's no boobs, but there is cannibalism, what a consolation prize.

It's not an American Raw, but then what is. When French people make cannibal body horror, it's about sex. When US people make cannibal body horror, it's about consumtion. It is, however, quite a bit of fun.

Eatin' Ass: The Movie. I watched this on Disney+ Guess we know what the + stands for now...sex, gore, violence and cannibalism, from your friends at Disney! Loved when the bartender just gave up on saving his ex and noped the fuck outta dodge. No coochie is worth dying for! I could watch that Richard Marx dance scene on loop all day!

Despite its lengthy and provocative grounding, effectively immersing us in the struggles of modern dating and the significance of female friendships (and suggesting a comment on class disparity), this amounts to little more than a capable thriller. Interesting design, good visuals, worthy performances, and a decent film.

It's a very good movie during the first act while we follow Daisy Edgar-Jones meeting Sebastian Stan and, mostly due to a series of terrible and depressing attempts to met an even halfway decent man, throws a bit too much caution to the wind and walks into the films premise and major twist. After that it's several different films at once, none of which are developed enough to be very good. It's kind of a horror film and kind of a black comedy, but it's mostly undeveloped promising ideas.

Possibly the least erotic scene of a girl about to have her ass eaten in the history of cinema.

I quite enjoyed this, at least up to the third act. Sebastian Stan was great and Edgar-Jones performed well too. I like the directing overall and the music selection was top-notch. But it did fall apart towards the end with the typical dumb horror protagonists.

This was a hard one for me to sit through
Not because it disturbed me But because It had the longest and most boring setup
I had to sit through
They tried to make it interesting by having the male lead be a cannibal and threw in some interesting side characters
Who knew something wasn’t quite right
But they don’t really do much of anything to follow up
I sorta liked the ending but by the time it finally got to the end
I wasn’t really invested in the characters anymore

While it doesn’t tread a lot of new ground, it’s really well executed. Excellent cast, believable dialogue, with spot on direction and cinematography. The ending is the weakest part, but not enough to lower its score.

Starts of real strong but the end is a bit of a mess. Still all in all a good film and gives a fresh (no pun intended) spin to a movie seen many times before.

it is meant to be mildly creepy and I guess it achieves that. The meat chewing ASMR adds a layer to it I guess to make sure people don't want to try the recipes at home. The guy noping out was a highlight of this.

“Fresh” is a unique and thrilling film that expertly blends elements of rom-com, horror, and black comedy. While it has its flaws, the outstanding performances by Edgar-Jones and Stan and the film’s significant commentary on women’s dating experiences make it a must-watch.

Well wasn't that something. It looks to cause visceral reactions and does so quite well. Early on it even charms us into a cute little romantic comedy. We know what we're here for of course and the inevitable tonal shift is done quite well. Good acting all around. There were some elements that felt a bit contrived, but overall it was quite good for the genre. 6.9 for me.

Interesting till the near-end. But an unsatisfactory B-grade style ending makes the flaws in the earlier part stand out. Whatever.

This movie is a copycat (Hannibal, Kiss the Girls, 50 Shades). The ending was rushed-over the top ridiculous. I wish they had went more with a mysterious Eyes Wide Shut creepiness instead of intentional dark humor. I would have preferred more horror. The ‘21-22 Hollywood trend continues of making men weak and harmless. They had a man show up and run away from the horror scene which detracts one star- they can empower women without insulting men. The women could have went family style on Steve

I won't go too crazy with my score, but I really enjoyed the ride. The direction was engaging, the performances were good, some of the dark humor elicited laughter, and the story had me guessing, even though deep down I knew where things would end up.

This captivated me throughout. It’s a little silly at times, but a good experience overall. I thought it was really interesting when the opening credits finally rolled 30 minutes in.

The stylistic flourish of not even putting the title/most of the opening credits until 30 mins in is something that appealed to me a lot. Directorially it has some good energy/finesse Script needs work. Some of it is engaging, even funny, but it all unravels the way that one might expect. I was fortunate to not see the trailers so the twist was a surprise, at least. Would be worse without Stan and Edgar-Jones, but I did enjoy it. Commentary is uninspired, honestly, but it's not for me I guess.

Despite the clumsy finale and some pretty derivative sections, it feels fresh lol, cast delivers and it's cool how the film leaves the gore fest to the end. Something between the great brazilian satire The Cannibal Club and The Invitation's kind of polished, yet macabre horror. Dancing scenes are great, so as the playlist -- cute renditions of Perfect Day and Exit Music (For a Film).

Intentionally takes a while to get going to try and prove a point that we already knew was coming because of the trailer. With that being said, it does a really great job of keeping you engaged thanks to Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar-Jones giving great performances. There could have been moments that made better use of the commentary that this film was looking to speak upon. Its definitely watchable and enjoyable at that.
