Four Hours to Kill!

The film comprises several interconnecting stories, all told in the same four hours. They are all nicely unveiled and wrapped up by the movie's end, slightly over an hour.

Viewed April 25, 2021. Since Leisen is great at tonal changes, it's so much fun to watch the way he shifts between suspense sequences and the moments of romantic comedy and melancholy that were his forte.

Discovering more of Richard Barthelmess' filmography turns up some nice gems! He wasn't always the easiest of actors to cast, but when getting the right part he's really effective! Here as a escaped prisoner who is recaptured and ready for delivery. They wait at a theater 4 hours for transport. And that's why we spend the entire movie in the lobby getting snapshots of various peoples lives in the process. Thriller, and very good too! You won't be sorry for giving this a chance!
