When does stupidity become vile?

On the one hand, I love how this is a "road trip film", except that it's only a "road trip film" because the main characters are incompetent; I love that so many of the characters, but not all of the characters, are so exaggerated; I love that the film is essentially a tragedy of "having to come to terms with basic reality"; I love that their selfishness extends even to leaving kittens to die. Maybe I just love it, but the characters sure are insufferable.

Could've been a lot worse. Fun for lots of it. Annoying for even more of it.

Three hundred years ago, two girls went to the beach...

"The Millennials are fucked." (Sort of like The Color Wheel without any of the artistry, genuine riskiness, subtly or subtext. A smugly self-deprecating "critique" that actually probably perpetuates a lot of what it imagines it's satirizing. Somehow it makes Lena Dunham seem like an epoch-defining talent by comparison, which takes some doing. At least it doesn't look terrible.)
