The second Clark Gable/Joan Crawford love story of '34 and this time it's Robert Montgomery who is in the way of their love. The three are old childhood friends and the dialogue is fast and childish between them. The movie is fairly great when the trio is all together, but slows down a bit when split up and the plot becomes sort of half-hearted. They try to get the playfulness to carry the movie and it only partly works. This has got it's moments, but feels half-finished. Kind of a rush-job.
