PSI: 51. SO CRITICKER DOES HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR HA HA

Samuel L. running around being cool. And that is about all there is too it. Apart from some fairly poorly done Guy Ritchie style cutting. Pretty average.

I enjoy both Jackson and Carlyle but they don't have much to work with here.

This movie was terrible. The only reason you would want to see it is to see Sam Jackson in a kilt. Do not see this movie, and if someone drags you to it close your eyes. The plot is awful and the acting just as bad. I love Sam Jackson but he is no good in this film. I think he needs to pick and choose his movies a little better. Do not see, I cannot stress this enough.

Why would they make a movie about that stuff I use to clean the stove?

Samuel L. Jackson makes this movie awesome. Lots of stars you wouldn't expect to find, also. It's not great, but it is entertaining, and that's what a movie is supposed to do.

Really lame. POS stands for "Power of Suggestion", I just saved you an hour and some cash.

I wanted to like it, but it was pretty average.

It should've been great but instead it's barely passable as a movie. It just feels average in every possible way.

Given the strong cast and reasonable premise, this falls into that rare category of misfire where one would think it would be harder to fail than succeed; chief problem here is that Jackson, Meat Loaf and Ifans think they are in PULP FICTION, Carlyle and the rest of the crew are doing TRAINSPOTTING and there is a void at the centre where neither shall meet. Utterly lacking any life or energy, this is ultimately a noisy and ugly snooze.

Poor action and poor jokes, a Jackson away from terrible. Made in 2001 but stuck in 1991

I hear Samuel L Jackson likes golf, and got to play a lot whilst this film. That's nice. Next time, maybe just have a golf holiday, rather that making this... But hey, he looks cool in it (natch) and .... something. Honestly, this film just slides in one ear through the brain and out the other side without bothering you too much. Now there's a recommendation.

Hilarios, underrated Jackson flick.

This movie was the perfect entertainment. I has a good story, cool dialogue, everything I need to relax and feel satisfied after it's over.

I love this movie, it was written by Stel Pavlou, the author of two awesome books, Decipher and Gene. The story, acting, pacing and comedic timing are great.

A very stupid movie that strangely still elicited a good time from me.

It's a B-movie action movie starring Samuel L Jackson in a motherfucking kilt. It's not as great as it sounds, but it's still amusing.

Pretty weak but watchable

Samuel makes this look cool, and I'm a sucker for films from Northern England.

Liked the action, the humour and the role of Samuel L Jackson, but actually, this really isn't a good film. Abselutely not. And what's up with the kilt anyway?

Ten years later I still harbor huge amounts of hatred towards this, even though I barely remember what the film was about. Samuel L. Jackson in a skirt, having diarrhea, I believe...

Sam gives class on screen and bob is always a joy to see

If Sam Jackson did 'Snakes' for its title, surely he jumped at the chance to wear a kilt for two straight hours in Formula 51. The movie is over-the-top cheese, but it's so absurd it's hard not to have a good time watching it. The supporting cast is full of strong character actors as well: Robert Carlyle, Emily Mortimer, Rhys Ifans, Meatloaf. It ain't high art, but it's good for a few laughs, and the action ain't half bad either.

The 51st State is a loud, filthy, and mentally vacant comic-actioner that offers only a meager chuckle here and there, and a migraine otherwise. Forget the Skittles Jackson tries to peddle, you may want to pop a few roofies before viewing this one to insure the memory of The 51st State stops by the time the credits roll.

Stupid action/comedy movie but its fun and Samual Jackson wears a kilt the whole time with no explaination.

Guilty pleasure if there ever was one.
