Forgotten

Prefigures Leo McCarey's superior Make Way for Tomorrow, but with a satisfying revenge plot tacked on. Well-acted, lively, and briskly shot, it's one of the more polished products of Poverty Row.

A sweet little story. Melodramatic rubbish in a way, but worked well enough in that easy drama format. Much thanks to Lee Kohlmar as the head of the family getting to be the center of attention and be a charming hard working old man. The story is that he makes the family rich, but once he gets old he's pushed out by his spoiled sons and their society wifes. To get revenge he secretly starts a new company with his loving daughter.... and you can guess the rest.... yes it has a happy ending.
