Ben Hogan may have been a great golfer, but he was seemingly a boring personality, so they have Dennis O'Keefe play his wacky pal and fellow pro (loosely based on Jimmy Demaret) to liven up the movie, and use Hogan's near fatal car accident to create some drama. Glenn Ford is rock solid. You get one of his gentle performances, and Anne Baxter is there to comfort and support him. Never a exciting biopic, but it's all alright.
