This film is a vehicle for Maurice Chevalier to sing and dance while pretending to be acting.

Maurice Chevalier was absolute ace in this film. A super charmer singing catchy songs and dancing his way in Busby inspired numbers to any lady's heart! And how gorgeous did Merle Oberon look?! She was almost like a cartoon lady, perfect and enigmatic, and with her eyes sparkling with childish enthusiasm when in scenes with Chevalier. The plot was the weak point, but they splashed the surroundings with enough pizzazz to cover up most of the flaws and let the stars shine into the atmosphere!
