Flying Leathernecks

Pro-war John Wayne flight. Regardless of politics, for a lot of this, that's what this was, it's for the most part a boring one. Naturally picks up when in battle, but even those scenes were average at best. Star-power helps, but it's not a stand-out in the war genre in any way.

Entertaining WWII movie starring John Wayne and Robert Ryan. Good chemistry with the two male leads going back and forth.

Really good use of real war footage combined with movie footage. Great John Wayne war movie.

It's not good for many things, but mostly because Wayne, maybe too comfortable and confident, just can't express what a terrible thing must be to command a huge team of hungry, angry and tired soldiers, that face death up there every single day.
