Passable adventure yarn suffers from typically unconvincing mid-00s CGI and, similar to the early film, a dire lack of tension amongst the characters reflective of the hopelessness of their situation (plus some perfect hair and makeup even after weeks post-crash in a desert!). Ribisi gives the best performance, even if the ghost of Hardy Kruger is never far behind. Watchable but largely dismissable.

Not terrible, actually. Dennis Quaid does his best Harrison Ford impression. Hugh Laurie is always dependable, Tyrese is great, and Ribisi is good and not his usual annoying self. But man, Sticky Fingaz is horrible. His mere visibility makes anything with him on screen almost unwatchable. The rainbow cast is also kind of annoying.

Another example of a remake which completely misunderstands what made the original great. In spite of the mostly talented cast, the characters are bland to non-existent, which flies in the face of the original's extremely memorable cast of characters.

By all accounts this should be at least an iota suspenseful. But I WAS SO BORED THE WHOLE TIME EXPLOSIONS BE DAMNED.

Good film! And surprisingly it didn't make the smart guy out to be bad just like everything else.

Mundane action adventure remake. Not completely terrible but with a fairly talented cast seems like it could have been more.

If not for Hugh Laurie, I would not have watched past the first 10 minutes. Terrible directing. Wast of a good cast. Director in the Extras section is a total a**.

Ok remake of a classic. Tension and suspense have been downgraded to special fx and a music number or two. And don't forget, Goivanni Ribisi at his worst.

Hard to drum up enthusiasm for this film, which trades suspense for generic action and poorly developed characters. It isn't terrible though, and it is watchable.

If it wasn't for the one scene in which Massive Attack's "Teardrop" is played in its entirety while one actor is getting shot simultaneously I would never remember even seeing this film. In hindsight though, the aforementioned scene is definitely music video worthy.

Hollywood for some time seems to have run out of ideas, but remaking THIS??? The original was pretty darn lame

Ribisi and Laurie underperform in a rather unnecessary remake. Nice sound design and cinematography though.

This remake is so racist, I mean, every demographic is represented except there's no Asian guy in it... oh wait, yes there is, phew.

Brilliantly improved over the original classic, and starring a pre-House Hugh Laurie and pre-Blade Stickyfingaz.

I can't, in good faith, give a film that pushes the racial rainbow of equality and friendship so hard a score above a 60. This film reminds me I have yet to see a rapper who can act.

Though the original is great in context, I like this remake much better. The pacing and characters (Ribisi as Elliot and Laurie as Ian) were great, and the movie, though I'd seen its predecessor, was still fresh.
