Slade star as "Flame", a rock group who struggle under the pressures of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle after producing a smash record. There's a lot of the madcap spirit of the 1960s' band movies, but here the story is more fleshed out and the tone noticeably darker as it progresses. The performances are all decent, even those from the band, and their music is top-drawer.
