A movie about absolutely nothing.

Ben Foster is the type of actor who takes a movie like this and makes it better by being in it. It is character driven and realistic which for me is always the type of story I gravitate towards. Add in great performances from Wallace and Ortega and you have a recipe for success. It's well written, well made and a great story about making choices. It's easy to lose sight of what is right when you convince yourself it is. That is the message behind this movie.

Won't recommend it but it's not horrible. Mostly, it's an uneven family drama that sometimes drifts into corniness, with a brief excursion into crime drama that doesn't feel like it fits. Foster plays these types of characters well and Ortega, even with limited screen time, is charming as hell.

Really enjoyed this one. Can't say much not to spoil anything. Very real feeling drama/action around the world of commercial fishing.
