Kate McKinnon is fucking hilarious in this, just about laughed out loud every time she opened her mouth.

Cena probably would not have been my first choice for a role of this nature but he does bring a lot of heart to the role and that does count for something. It always kept that heroic vibe to it providing Ferdinand with enough believability to keep even the adults entertained. A solid enough kids movie with enough themes to make it worth viewing as a learning experience. This is the type of film we need for families to be able to sit through together.

The beginning is endearing enough, but as the character gets older so does the preachiness. Should have kept its innocence, everything else is genre trash.

If it’s never especially memorable, there’s a scrappy heart to this film that makes it more enjoyable than necessary, with a bright cast and clever ideas helping to offset the overall familiarity: McKinnon steals the film as a Carol Burnett-ish goat; the trio of well-bred pedigree horses get some of the biggest (and longer lasting) laughs. Can’t resist dipping into a hectic and padded chase scene, and can’t compete with the best of the decade’s animation, but it’s still a warm hearted good time.

PG version of Green Mile, almost. It tries to tackle a very heavy issue of animal abuse which is integral to an entire culture, but pulls its punches when critiquing the subject. Instead it runs off to the meadow hollering "You get a happy ending, you get a happy ending and YOU get a happy ending!" Like even the people who perpetuate the systemic animal abuse get a happy ending. What a cop-out.

Wow, such a beautifully crafted movie! The color palette used, the scoring, the storylines, the unforgettable characters of the horses & the goat--everything was done perfectly. Even its message to rethink our take on abusing animals for entertainment is cool. This should have won an award. MY SCORING: 99-96=Great; 95-90=Very good; 89-85=Good; 84-80=So-so; 79-70=Boring; Below 70=Forget it

Filmin sonu duygusal etkileyici. Alkışlayasım geldi. Fakat animasyon tekniği açısından düşük. Bizim boğa Ferdi, olmuş Ferdinand

Holy shit was this ever a piece of crap. The original story is a sweet and simple story and this was an over blown unfunny gag-a-minute, obnoxiously bad racial caricatures, way too long dance numbers and an annoying side kick. Yup this movie was everything I don't like in movies like this...However it did have a couple decent scenes and moments which accounts for the high score.

Cinema.

Hey, I love family animation films like this, and it got the whole family in a good mood. Sure, it's not a original formula. Doesn't even touch Disney's own Ferdinand the Bull (1938), especially if you count the legendary Swedish dub us Norwegian's have grown up with, but John Cena does a good job and it's an all-out pleaser. Not so much emotion, but they didn't waste any time delivering their gag-mania for a super fun time! My favorite was the CPR bunny. That was adorable!

Kate McKinnon does her best to save this but she just can't. There are multiple dance sequences in this movie about bulls. No one can save that.

It's likely that you may have owned, or were once read The Story of Ferdinand. That classic children's book has been reproduced in more than 60 languages and, amazingly in our digital era, has never gone out of print since its original publication in 1936. You might also have seen the Disney short about that tale, too.
