Father Steps Out

Director Maclean Rogers was a quota quickie specialist, often associated with the most boring B-movies Britain had to offer. The exception was when he was teamed with actor George Carney. That's when the theme of small time business men actually worked, much due to Carney being a folksy actor given time by Rogers to shine in those simple roles. That worked here and it also worked when they were reunited for Easy Riches (1938). Nothing remarkable, but likable little pictures easy to digest.
