Father Christmas

Is this as good as The Snowman? No. Does it shamelessly try to sell itself based solely on the fact it's a kind-of sequel to that wonderful film? Yes. Still, while not amazing, this has its moments and does stand out thanks to the spot-on voice performance of Mel Smith as a British Santa with a penchant for throwing out UK cusses. The story is a bit weak honestly, but it wraps up before it has the chance to get too tired. A neat companion to The Snowman, if nothing else.

Dry and surprisingly darkly funny, especially when compared to its Raymond Briggs' partner-in-Christmas-crime The Snowman.

I did not enjoy this one as much as The Snowman. It is just plain longer than this story needs to be, and if Santa said "blooming" one more time I thought my head was going to blooming explode.

Much more likeable than its partner piece "The Snowman". It's funnier, dryer, more charming, and Mel Smith is perfect for voicing Father Christmas. Beautifully animated and very festive!
