Momoa is the highlight here as the campy, fruity psychopath. Everyone feels so tired, there are some great sequences but too few and far between and far between, but the tank is running on E

"It's like a cult, with cars." I had low hopes when they immediately call back to, of all entries, Fast Five. It's Groot, Peacemaker, Captain Marvel, Holga Kilgore, Atomic Blonde and the Transporter, versus Aquaman and Jack Reacher. Momoa is delightfully insane and Cena is really good, but at this point, you can't even call these souped-up car commercials anymore. Ostensibly, these are poorly-written urban fantasy movies that had a baby with the Gran Turismo video game franchise. Also, family.

Best part of the movie was the photo of Dom getting married in a sleeveless white suit. Momoa is one of the worst villains in a big movie I've seen in a while and that's coming from someone who loves a hammy bad guy. Literally just a walking, talking series of movie villain cliches with zero thought put in on how to apply those characteristics but I suppose he's kind of a breath of fresh air in terms of the Fast franchise. Tiresome.

Crappy fights, crappy cars, crappy CGI. Copy pasta Joker. 1 skinny woman beating 10 jacked dudes in hand-to-hand combat at once. This is number one bullshit.

This is the most fun I’ve had with one of these in awhile. It’s as silly and dumb as one would expect, but I actually kind of enjoyed some of the acting and it does genuinely feel like the beginning of the end. It has the highest stakes in the franchise. Momoa is so hammy as one of the best villains in the series too. It feels like half of a movie though, with a bizarre cliffhanger and so many characters sidelined. It’s overcrowded, but I laughed and cheered through it all. Can’t wait for more.

At least two great set-pieces -- Rome at the beginning and Portugal at the finale -- and Momoa's villain just delivering the goods anytime he can. You just can't ask for anything more.

While the action is not quite up to par with the series highlights from the Justin Lin movies, this movie delivers a very satisfying opening act to the franchise's finale (with the appropriate amount of callbacks and fan service that should be expected for a tenth installment). A welcome surprise was Jason Momoa's portrayal of Dante, who immediately stands out as one of the series' most charismatic and memorable villains.

By the 10th film in a franchise, you have to be doing something to really capture the casual audience appeal. Fast X is more of everything we’ve come to love & hate with this franchise, while slightly dialing back the outrageous sequences of F9, it actually gives a solid villain in Momoa’ character and it has just enough motivation to keep you vested. Between the action sets and cringey dialogue, it’s peak soap opera territory and I’m 100% all behind that as a super fan of this franchise.

Fast X takes the franchise into superhero comic territory, but not in a good way. The writing detracts from the ridiculous action sequences, making the film less fun. At least Momoa's flamboyant megalomaniac was committed. Diesel manages to do his spiel about family before, after & during each fight...to the extent that it's silly. The stacked cast is cool but superficial or a mediocre performance. They went to space in the last one, I wouldn't be surprised if they went to hell in the next one.

They're not good movies by any means, they're dumb as a brick, yet I can't stop watching them. They consistently create new car stunt ideas that we've never seen before, the action is always good, and combined with the hilariously bad everything other than action, I just have fun with them. I almost watch them more as action comedies at this point, with most of the humor being unintentional. Momoa is having a blast chewing the scenery. Turn your brain off before watching.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Fast X is one hell of a ride. Of course, there are absurd scenes, after all, these films is all about that, but this time it's incredibly entertaining. Louis Leterrier's directing is excellent, the action sequences are very enjoyable and Jason Momoa must be the best thing that has happened to this franchise, he shined in every scene he was in, a perfect villain. Yes, that's right, I'm looking forward to the sequels now. (Cineverse Metrogarden - 05/22/2023)

The melodrama is almost unbearable, but once machines start to do the talking - even very silly machines with impossible suspension and indestructible chassis - the “fast formula” is basically unfailing, this time carried by the inspired Jason Momoa. None of the setpieces are really that great - underwhelming (and overwhelming) CGI partly at fault - but as a whole it can’t fail to hugely entertain.

"Fast X" is a film that caters to its core audience, delivering the trademark adrenaline-fueled spectacle the series is known for. However, as a piece of cinema, it lacks coherence and a certain degree of subtlety, traits that could potentially elevate it beyond its inherent spectacle-driven constraints.

A high-octane action fest that delivers intense stunts and fast-paced excitement. The return to familiar characters and a new, vengeful antagonist brings both familiarity and intrigue to the story. While the film sticks to the franchise's formula, it doesn’t quite hit the same peak as previous installments. The action is still gripping, but the plot occasionally feels stretched thin, leaving it entertaining yet predictable. A solid continuation, but not the most memorable in the series.

I'm all for a mindless racing flick, and I know what I'm getting into with F&F, but they really have gone from pushing the line of suspension of disbelief to actively disrespecting the audience. It feels like they've gotten comfortable and are letting cgi slip too.

Dunno if there's that much lore from past movies I should care about, but going into this blind I thought EVERYONE was the most boring shit and Momoa specifically is god awful when written like a wisecracking asshole. It has some cool setpieces and ideas but all the quick cuts and the very boring personality makes it hard for me to care.

This movie made a ton of money, so they're obviously going to make more, but this is a tired, soul-less series by now. A bunch of famous people are packed into a nonsensical plot and forced to deliver cheesy lines amid explosions and muddled action sequences. The only one who seems to be having fun here is Jason Momoa who fully leans into the camp and basically becomes a mustache-twirling cartoon villain. Everyone else is just here for a paycheck.

I've enjoyed this franchise's purposely campy over-the-top car stunts that always achieved a unique blend of ridiculous & entertaining, but there's only 2 scenes like that here (the mid-air crane push & drive down the dam) in a way too long running time that lacks laughs or suspense. There's way too many characters now & the film acts like we're supposed to care about seeing all of them again. I'm not sure if Momoa is miscast or the "I'm A Crazy Joker Type Guy" villain's been done too much.

The dramatic stakes would be much higher if characters actually stayed dead in this franchise. Good action scenes, entertaining villain, nonsensical and overcomplicated plot as usual, too many accidentally funny serious scenes, feeling very soured by the ending since I wasn't aware it would be a two parter.

If you're going to end a movie like this, you need to make sure to build up a lot of goodwill... which this doesn't. It's not without its merit: some of the action sequences are good, the performances are fine, and it occasionally feels like a big finale. But sometimes it undercuts its seriousness with more lame attempts to be stylish and cool. Yeah, rap is cool, we know. Momoa's Joker-lite is trying really hard but doesn't always work. But above all else, it's too long and scattershot.

Great car chases, bullshit fight scenes (where skinny characters can take on a squad of armoured forces), and a solid continuation of the tale of this fam. But there's also a sense of carelessness, as if this has been hurried out, but the film still seems to try and squish as much as it can, featuring just about every main character this series has had. And yet it still overfills itself and, as it goes with film franchises these days, it ends on a cliffhanger -- fuck you.

The cliffhanger makes sense from a streaming point of view. Not so much from a film POV. The otherwise great film finds itself lacking in that they left the entirety of the plot completely open. The idea of a good cliffhanger is to hook a viewer for the next instalment. Here there was no real plot in the first place. just an idea.

Not much to recommend, sadly, aside from what the FAST series has lacked a long while: a charismatic villain. Momoa channels Jack Nicholson's Joker and provides some much-needed color in an otherwise rote action exercise. Theron's visceral fight scene stands out, but it's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment amid more than two hours of CGI cars careening down CGI stairs and bursting into CGI flames. And they want us to watch MORE of this? Unacceptable in a post-M:I and JOHN WICK climate.

Holy moly! Better than F9 if only because of how impressive it is watching them juggle a thousand characters, subplots and action scenes. But the sheer magnitude of it all does become a bit numbing after a while. The physics of the vehicular mayhem become cartoonish even for the standards of this series, which is saying something. Also didn’t we JUST do this revenge against Dom & the family villain motive a few movies back in Furious 7? That said mincing Momoa bad guy does win a few laughs.

"Fast X" is a high-energy addition to the "Fast & Furious" franchise. Jason Momoa's charismatic performance as Dante Reyes adds a flamboyant villain to the series, breathing new life into the story. However, the plot feels monotonous, the dialogue is overwrought, and the humor falls flat. The action sequences lack realism, and the film's narrative is crowded with underdeveloped characters.

For all its family-centered aspirations, it pales deeply in comparison to the previous entries that managed to strike a more tolerable balance between over-the-top spectacle and nostalgic sentiment. Even F9's space scene doesn't seem that ridiculous anymore when put next to the Looney Tunes-esque action sequences that this entry is rife with. The best thing about watching a loud movie such as this one in the theater as it that it perfectly camouflages your embarrassing flatulence problems.

Fast & Furious lost any sense of gravitas a few films back and Fast X is pure, self-indulgent silliness. If its commercial, and cultural peak was its imperial phase, Fast X is the peak of its Caligula era, a film driven by decadent whims, florid gestures, excess, and insanity. But if you’ve enjoyed any past entries, and if that sounds at all appealing rather than a reason to retreat to other corners of the cinematic world, may as well hop on for the first lap of this, allegedly, final ride.
