Fandango

Apparently one of QT's favorites, and possibly an inspiration for "The Hangover". It's sort of a 80's version of American Graffiti mixed with a road film. Costner is charismatic in an early role, and you can clearly see why he became a star. Reynold's direction is ambitious; he's clearly going after something extra here, and manages to build an almost poetic quality to the film's best scenes. He showed great promise here, and it's odd how he ended up making generic Hollywood spectacles.

A solid young cast of actors, but this meandering coming of age tale meanders just a little too long into "kinda boring" territory.

A type of a coming of age -story, but not really entirely so. It's a story about friendship and I felt a lot about it was of that time when even the best of friends will see each other the last time. Sometimes we know we are saying goodbye to each other and sometimes we simply just found out later that yeah, that was the last time we talked to them. Some funny and sad scenes here, a little gem of a movie.

Nothing much to latch onto here,no idea why Tarantino thought it was in the same class as Citizen Kane or Badlands as far as directional debuts go
