If Giuseppe Rotunno wasn't on this job, nobody would even remember it. Wonderful cinematography, some performances of worth throughout, but there is absolutely no connection with any of these characters - it's horribly put together.

Heavy, verbose, depressing, and quite decent if you're in the right mood to watch a family being eaten away by its history and assorted illnesses (though brotherly love perseveres), but probably not as heartfelt as it should have been.
