“Becky, are you going to climb this rickety tower that's been rusting out here for decades or live in fear of heights for the rest of your life?”

Complete trash, of course, but it works. Several genuinely terrifying sequences that left me with sweaty palms and white knuckles. Obviously, everything in this movie is contrived and schematic, and the last stretch is wholesale ridiculous, but not necessarily in a bad way. There’s also no real reason for this to be longer than 90 minutes, but at 107 minutes (with credits), I was less fidgety than expected. Worthwhile for fans of similarly pulpy survivor films like Crawl or The Shallows.

As someone truly afraid of heights, I found this sometimes truly frightening, until it just wasn't anymore -- plot twists feel kind of dumb and this felt way longer than it should.

Number one in my list of movie characters that I do not envy. There isn’t a lot new here (even the twist is identical to another stuck-in-one-place movie), but it has some tense scenes, good cinematography, and does a better job developing its characters than most.

Worth it for the initial pole climb and subsequent 15-20 mins which made my hands sweat profusely. Rest is lame

I can't say how many technical things were wrong at this movie without spoilers. The whole technical basis of the plot was frustrating wrong and a small twist at the end wasn't enough to make this movie enjoyable.

It's what you expect it to be- short on logic, but with enough engaging character moments & decent thrills to make it worthwhile if you turn your brain mostly off. I went to the theater for this, because Virginia Gardner is a personal favorite & I love seeing her on the big screen, but I think I appreciated it more because of said big screen. It's the kind of throwaway thriller built for the theater. The script really needed work, though- that first twist? Yikes. Write better women, it's 2022.

Shamelessly busting out the A-grade titties right around the time a casual viewer would have bowed out of this mess was a stroke of genius. Kept my eyes on the film to the end, and I know I ain't the only one, fellas.

generic? clumsy writing makes the character beats and the twists predictable, or even scoff-inducing. the challenge to stretch the movie out in such a compact space is certainly overcome, though that is the main thing going for it. its gore effects are decent, but it's clear they want to focus on it but don't have the budget to really bring it out :( don't bother unless your goal is to watch shitty horror movies. not even any yuri smh

Formula movie featuring two unlikeable female protagonists who are slow at learning lessons and who, when they do, learn the wrong ones. I never believed these personalities were capable of the expertise needed to attempt the sort of climbing shown in the opening. The life-affirming clichés are mindless and there’s an endless repetition of phrases like “are you OK?” and “you’ve got this”. I’m no fan of heights, but the film did nothing for me: perhaps true acrophobes will get more of a thrill.

I'm not usually as forgiving with such considerable levels of cheesiness, but it isn't stupid, and it would seem petty to spite this movie for having a Hollywood veneer when it's just so effective in achieving its main goal. It is positively nerve-racking. I can't remember the last time I squirmed like this in a survival thriller, much less a pruported horror movie.

If you're willing to set all your expectations for credibility aside and watch something idiotic and decidedly busty, this is a very fun one. The cinematography does a good job portraying the nauseating height, the soapy backstory will train your abilities to scoff

It's good enough. It brings nothing new to the table, having the usual checklist of plot points you'd expect from the genre, but it's done well enough to be worth the watch.

Well kids, let that be a lesson to you; tell someone where you are at all times! And don't let your friends bully you into doing something really stupid like this, especially after someone has apparently WD40ed all the bolts. I admit to cringing behind my seat for much of this as I hate heights; it was extremely well done and props to the girls, but the 'cop out' ending and the seemingly impossible antics the girls got up to without holding on took the gloss off. Tie yourself on and go to sleep!

While “Fall” has the potential to be a nice late summer chiller, the film’s last act turns it into something ugly, ungainly, and unworthy of the investment of its audience.

It felt a bit derivative; it reminded me much of 47 Meters Down. Yet, it certainly is filled with most of the things you would expect from this kind of movie.

It's surprisingly okay for a survival movie, because somehow they all tend to start out kind of okay and then fall apart in the end. It's got a different concept and packs some harrowing moments here. Requires one to use some suspension of disbelief and a skill to ignore weird decisions by the characters, but if you like survival stuff like this, then I think that already comes with the whole deal. Not bad!

Better than it should have been tbh. Not perfect, but solid tension and pretty anxiety inducing for acrophobics. A small story done pretty well. 6.5 for me.

Anxiety inducing movie, in a good way. There's probably a metaphor in there about vultures and social media, but if there is it went over my head. I enjoyed it as a dramatic spectacle with no underlying meaning. Once finished, it feels like something is missing, though I can't exactly figure out what. It was nice though.

Well made on a budget, successfully creating an atmosphere of constant tension and vertigo whilst mainly relying on psychology rather than dramatic shots to hold your fear. Gripping old fashioned fun for the most part – especially when everything starts going ominously wrong for the girls – but lets itself down with the addition of utterly unnecessary dream sequences/hallucinations which add nothing and actually detract from the film overall (the storm scene in particular is a massive tease).

It was quite okay. Overall, I enjoyed watching this. There was some moments that made me sweat out of my hands. The intensity of these scenes is a bit exhausting, but also riveting. This has a feel of stupidy over it though. The characters make a lot of bad choices, which are obviously very bad choices. Does this have to keep me engaged as a viewer? However, it makes these types of films... Wrapped itself up really nicely.
