Character-driven crime thriller with Bird's usual holy social fury driving the plot and great performances from Davis, Carlyle and Winstone, somewhat let down by the lead characters backstory feeling more than a little clumsy. Soundtrack tries very hard to be mid-90s hip, which is the least well-aged part of it.

Face is an engaging, well-directed British crime thriller with a couple of decent twists and enjoyable, gritty performances from Ray Winstone and Philip Davis. Its fleeting eye on socialism never develops any relevance though, and the cheerful ending works poorly against the otherwise pessimistic tone. Damon Albarn's only film appearance is tragically brief too.

Pretty awful stuff. Cliched throughout, the only watchable thing being Ray Winstone who excels on home territory.

there are bit parts of lull, but the majority of this movie is great. the gunfights are exciting and the drama is satisfying, and it simply has an ending to die for. also the soundtrack is utterly perfect.
