A few of the cop-movie clichés in Exit Wounds: A rogue cop is sent to a tough precinct as punishment for his unorthodox policing methods. His fat, blustery boss says stuff like “You’re a loose cannon!” Bad cops are involved in a big drug ring. Lots of slow-motion punching, kicking, explosions, and shootings. The villains own a strip club, at which there are several gratuitous scenes. Rap music plays whenever a black character appears. Someone made a promise to his dad before he died. Enjoy.

Steven Seagall stands in place and has the badguys run at him and god help you if you make him break a sweat. DMX not being the biggest asshole on set lol Steven Seagall characters cannot have normal human names. The insult of having your city standing in for Detroit. I saw this when it first came out in theaters and the only thing I remembered was Anthony Anderson hooting at boobies being mushed against glass - nothing has changed since then. The stars are only for Tom Arnold and Anthony'

TBS once showed this, and while it does indeed suck the hilarity factor is rather high. For instance, Seagal manages to shoot down a helicopter with only a handgun. Oh, and it has DMX being DMX. Heh.

This movie gets better and better as it goes. The dialogue between Tom Arnold and Anthony Anderson during the end credits is priceless. Also DMX gets in a swordfight. Yup, DMX. In a swordfight.

Pretty horrendous. Another Seagal action vehicle with the added turd topping of DMX and Tom Arnold. This was Seagal's last gasp for mainstream action star legitimacy before fading away forever into obscure direct to video pet projects. The plot is completely laughable and the director is one of the biggest hacks ever.

Ahaha this movie. I knew I was in for good times when Seagal blew up a helicopter with a pistol and nearly drowned the vice president in the opening scene.

Steven Seagal proves once again that he is a hard man to hate. It helps when you make such cheerfully dumb movies.

Steven Seagal stars as maverick Detroit police detective Orin Boyd, whose take-no-prisoners approach to domestic terrorism gets him booted downtown to the city's toughest precinct. Multi-Platinum hip hop star DMX stars as the powerful and mysterious crime lord Latrell Walker, whose dicey connections and seemingly unlimited cash make him everyone's target. Together the two men take on a conspiracy that reaches all the way through the ranks to the heart of the precinct.

as with ALL of steven seagal movies, the story is quite good, but his acting really kills it for me. he reminds me of john wayne. ALLWAYS the same character, whatever his character might be, he "plays" it always the same, only the words change. the same walk, expressions and way of talking. it is like he has done one movie and then they dubbed it with a different story and put different clothing on him. it get's really hard to watch after you have seen a few of his movies.

Exit Wounds from memory was Steven Seagal's final cinema release before the dreaded swamp of straight to DVD releases. This felt like his last chance to prove to everybody that he could still be a viable action star. From memory Joel Silver produced and this was big budget opportunity for Seagal. But disappointingly this was a huge flop. Sadly Seagal's films have just lost their fun factor. He may get a second coming but I think it's time for Steven Seagal to call it a day.

Started off with a thrilling rescue of the VP which looked like a great plot and then a very funny sideline of the anger management classes and I thought yes a Segal film I like! Then they threw it all away by running a completely different plot!

It probably goes without saying that Exit Wounds is loaded with plotholes and bad dialogue. Critics also note that Seagal has aged rather badly.

Ironic and unpretentious actioncomedy and a fine comeback for Seagal (that lasted for about 12 days). From here on it was all downhill with the likes of Ticker, Half Past Dead and Belly of the Beast.

Silver drops the bucks to destroy cars, shoot up everything, & without overburdening the plot, it can hardly go wrong. Some edits are fast & hard to follow, but the hand to hand delivers. Serious ouch stunts. Steve doesn't preach, a drawback, if you ask me. Has "B" features: dialogue from the school of you've got to be kidding; gratuitous car/naked girl scenes; & a puny little villain who needed to get his face smashed in with a 2x4 early in the film & doesn't. All part of the charm, really.

DMX is crap, Michael Jai White is crap... heck everyone in this film is crap. But Steven Seagal and his legendary pony tail make up for the uber naffness of the rest of the cast (excluding Teddy from Hangtime and Tom Arnold). Still, I enjoyed it immensely and I can't quite put my finger on why. It must have been Seagal's truly awesome acting, or maybe it's because his stuntman is brilliant.
