A fine comedy from director Sam Taylor who's got most of his experience from directing Harold Lloyd movies. And by learning from Lloyd he manages to focus a lot on Beatrice Lillie's personality letting her shine in her only silent movie role. And she sure is likable in her un-glamorized way clowning around as if she was Chaplin, Keaton or Lloyd. Her leading man is Jack Pickford in his last big role. Something amusing always happens and keeps a positive vibe even if the end isn't of the happiest.

No memorable gags, and a boring love story. I'm not impressed with Lillie's work, but I'd hope that her stage show was better. Frankly, I'm not surprised her career in film ended here.

The great comedienne Beatrice Lillie's first screen appearance--worth seeing for her alone. The performance by the troupe of "Flaming Women" is an uproarious bonus. And the bittersweet ending suggests that audiences were once adult about such things.
